I have no idea who they are. Other people out to monetize their business by speculating?

That’s just how we pronounce ‘Z’ on this side of the pond.

I guess similar to how we pronounce Lu-tenant as opposed to how you folks say Let-tenant? for the rank of Lieutenant, run the YouTube clip after the exclusive illustrative pics to listen to how CDR Metcalf addresses Lieutenant Mitchell - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...t#post15641129

Heh, I've been saying those same things over and over as what Bunnag says since the start of all this. ****, I literally said it just a few hours back about how art and tech intertwine and that it doesn't do to focus too much on the tech at the expense of the art: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...0#post17162960

As for the TG2 trailer, there had better be a goddamned pole in it or I'm going to be very disappointed.

with my endorsement from the get-go and that of PeterTHX too, futilely trying to lead people down the true path of righteousness (and not speaking beyond the scope of my experience - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=31882), but like I said –

Tom Cruise is the foundation of this HDR discussion thread, period!
And preferably with a pole or two, Jerry Bruckheimer (Chuck too), the jets in Maverick, the filming crew, the HDR cameras used, the angles, the focus.

One of the reasons I was leaning towards it being creative intent as opposed to "fake HDR," is the low peak brightness. If someone wanted to use "fake HDR" to override creative intent, I would imagine that they would do so to make content look brighter and more vibrant, and to override a more muted look that the creators intended. But it's good to have confirmation.

Vincent doesn't.
EvilBoris does, and always did even back 20 years ago he knew what was up.

We will se about the future: what I know is that at the end of 2019 I can't buy an OLED smaller than 55 inches

It's cheeky enough putting a 4K sticker on 55" let alone 48".

Just watched ep 6 and....no. The HDR grading aesthetic is exactly the same as the previous eps I've seen. Some of its locales are a bit brighter in terms of production design like the white-walled prison ship - where the show's typically thin black levels won't affect the perceptual contrast so much - but other than that it's business as usual. I wonder if those milky blacks are also what's turning people off w/ref to the wider pushback against the look of the Mando? Especially the average joe/jane with an OLED who, thanks to the marketing, expects their blacks to look deep and inky with every single thing that they view on it.

That's not the point. I would gladly buy a 1080p OLED with HDR on a smaller display...

We are talking about the display type, not the resolution...

Right now under 49" all HDR displays are poor quality.

Me and you might know this. General consumer buying this like a wombat, and sitting 10ft from it. No.

This will be great for gamers though. LGs low lag, premium processing on a smaller screen.

If they feel sizes under 49" are too small for a TV nowdays, they can even call them "MONITORS" for all I care. I don't even need a TV tuner anymore....
