Select movies will also have a Versions tab available, where you can access both the IMAX Enhanced and Widescreen versions.

Note: Some movies only have select sequences filmed in IMAX’s expanded aspect ratio. Read the description in the Versions tab to see if the expanded aspect ratio is available throughout the entire movie.

All Disney+ subscribers can experience select Marvel Cinematic Universe movies in IMAX’s expanded aspect ratio, on any supported device.

You're kinda obsessed with them not releasing the streaming serieses on disc as a sign of them ditching disc but there are very few streaming series that DO make it to disc, from any provider. The whole point is to keep that content exclusive to that service. There are some on disc, sure there are, but compared to everything else out there they're but a fraction, and a UHD release is a tinier fraction still. But modern TV shows on disc just don't do big business any more apart from rare cash cows like Game of Thrones, it's why Warners release most of their stuff via WAC on Blu or even DVD. Disnee aren't solely keeping their shows stuff off of disc because they hate physical, they're also doing it because it's not worth their time.

there is no DTS:X in provider streaming. (that i'm aware of) all providers that stream with object based audio is always Lossy ATMOS in a DD+ package.

Until Fiber Optic internet is available where I live the discs are always my first choice.

It doesn't matter with streaming as the AV bitrates are relatively low and fixed, even for 4k, unfortunately. Meaning, the data rates and compression quality don't ramp up past the stored file's capabilities on the streaming company's server if you have a faster than average connection. Quality is not job one with these companies as their average customer base doesn't give a crap.

This would only be helpful if you were downloading and/or uploading large amounts of data. Kaleidascape file download speeds would be improved with a faster internet connection with no data caps, for instance.


Discs or very expensive Kscape are the only options for higher than streaming quality outside of going to the ultra rich solutions of DCP rentals for your private screening room.

Those are still more or less valid statements, at the moment they're pushing in one direction, there is a market for their D+ content on disc, not Frozen DVD/BD numbers, but a market nonetheless.

The problem (for us) is Disney think big and physical is relatively small.
