Buying already released material in an Open AR is not hurting you, your wallet or your feelings. Let people have their IMAX ENHANCED movies, if you don't like them then don't buy them. No one on this thread has advocated for only Open Matte films and incorrect AR. This is only you needing to be upset by something.

Studios rerelease films all the time, it’s not crazy at all. Directors cuts and unrated cuts were also a thing for a while and there’s only a few films that would have an open matte Enhanced release. Most Enhanced titles won’t have an expanded ratio. |

Also I have to +1 that these discs are great. I don’t have DTS:X capability at the moment so I can’t speak to that but visually, these were a treat! |

Not necessarily because, all TVs may not adopt and support HDR10+. HDR10+ is not going to benefit the consumer, if their TV won't support it, and will never be updated by firmware.. LG is not going to support HDR10+ for sure because, HDR10+ is a replication of Dolby Vision develop by Samsung, which is LG's main competitor. LG is currently supporting and has implemented Dolby Vision on their TVs, and they will not support HDR10+. The only brands that's onboard to support HDR10+ as of now is Samsung (themselves) and Panasonic. Vizio, TCL and Sony are basically economical brands, and I doubt they're be willing to pay a license fee for HDR10+ to Samsung because, they don't want the extra expense, and it will defeat the purpose of their TVs being an economical product. I see that you have a Samsung TV, so you should be HDR10+ ready.

It's the mix more than the format at 7.1.4. I've heard true Atmos object mixes (no Disney print-outs) with Trinnov and JBL multi-speaker demos that absolutely kicked the stuffing out of DTS:X mixes I've heard.
