Maybe two different versions of IMAX Enhanced - one for disc and the other for streaming.

Exactly. It seems like the definition of "IMAX Enhanced" has changed with this new Disney+ deal.

Previously, it meant expanded aspect ratio with HDR10, DTS:X audio, and DNR.

Now all you need is that expanded aspect ratio to be "IMAX Enhanced", which is really the main benefit anyways.

However, they did say that they would be bringing more IMAX Enhanced features to Disney+ in the future. So I wouldn't be surprised if they get updated with DTX:S someday.

Update: HDR10+ isn't part of the IMAX Enhanced spec

Again, 10+ is not part of the IMAX Enhanced spec. Sony, one of the biggest supporters with their TVs and Bravia CORE streaming service, will never use 10+ and does not.

20th Century Fox was one of the founders of HDR10+. When Disney bought them, the stopped using it and went to Dolby Vision. Disney does not support HDR10+.

Eventually we will see IE at Disney have Dolby Vision as HDR and the addition of DTS:X. Whether that will be the legacy sound format or a choice (Atmos being the other) has not been decided yet.

I've seen most of the titles listed since they were 'expanded' for their 3D bluray versions, but I'm very curious to watch 'Iron Man' since that's the one I didn't see theatrically as such.

Well that's good, a lot of TVs don't support HDR10+ anyways

But Samsung does and they are the largest TV seller in the world. One out of every five TVs sold world wide is a Samsung.

Why? Nowhere does it say it can't have a different HDR format, you are trying too hard

Did you attend the Xperi conference two years ago? They clearly mentioned 16:9, DNR, HDR10+ and DTS:X and speakers crossed over at 70 Hz. Ot are you telling me that the info from Xperi itself doesn’t suit you therefore they’re wrong?

Again, I will say it clearly as you didn't contradict me at all.
Did they say it cannot have DV or any other format?

Iron Man 1 in the first embiggended scene has grain! Natural moving grain!!
I wonder what the sources and workflow was for these? Right from the digital delivery files?
Nice to see them in the correct ratio also, I can ditch my home made rips from the 3D to 2D 4k I made years back and those discs were not 1.90:1.
Plus the colour is miles better, civil war always looked washed out on the 3D disc.
Can't anyone double check TR and BP? They seem louder than the discs, well I didn't have to turn them up

Better stream them all before Disney+ drops Dolby Vision and adds DMR for IMAX Enhanced

By chance if Disney re-release or have future MCU films on discs with IMAX Enhanced DTS-X, would that fix the Dolby TrueHD "Atmouse" sound issue (assuming that is a real issue - I hear different accounts)?

They are DMR processed already.
Its an upcale and denoise, not an HDR format.
Atmouse is a massive issue, and it's not the codec it's the mix

The first IE discs from Shout Factory happened to use HDR10+ but Sony's did not (nor did Sony use DV on those discs).

Besides, Xperi (and previously DTS themselves) has backtracked before. DVD having VBR. DTS-HD HR being compatible at launch of DTS:X. DTS:X itself being promoted as an object based format when it really was channel locked to 7.1.4 for the vast majority of their discs - and recommended to stay that way by DTS themselves. Clearly being marked IE and Dolby Vision + Atmos was never in the cards until Disney+.

The IE on FandangoNow (until they went DV+DA with their acquisition of Vudu) was HDR10 & DTS lossy compressed.

This is a Disney+ thing.
