Yes, they were pretty on time with the scheduled hour. No titles announced just a bit of allusions to having several titles in the works. I’ll have to watch parts of it again as I missed some but I could have sworn there was mention that some titles would have 1.90:1 instead of 1.78:1.

EDIT: They did mention “soon” but they’re leaving those announcements up to the individual studios, of course. Seconding Alpha as one of those.

Thanks. CES 2019, for sure then. They could have at least mentioned those two from Mill Creek Entertainment. Mill Creek Entertainment announced yesterday as well on Twitter.

Oh they did, they were the only two that were shown during the presentation. I agree, CES 2019 will be a good place to drop that info. I hope they announce more studio partners as well!

I thought Sony and Paramount were also behind this?

They are, but there was no official announcements of titles during the presentation apart from the two Mill Creek titles. Also, there was a little bit of shade thrown Disney’s way concerning their disappointing audio mixes...without naming names, of course.

Oh and I don’t know that it’s been explicitly mentioned before but discs will he player agnostic so no need for any specially certified UHD player.

Something mentioned in regards to their DMR tool used for discs, which they say is designed for HDR and high resolution displays:

“Other noise reduction plugins that are used in mastering movies for the home can create all kinds of other issues with the contrast and sharpness and aliasing and our tool doesn’t do that. Our tool is very neutral yet it still manages grain and noise, pulls it back to the original level that was intended by the filmmakers”

If I can get some time later tonight, I’ll cut out and group sections of the webinar and post links for anyone interested.

Right off the bat, Tomorrowland would make a good title for this as it had a really impressive IMAX showing.

So long as I get an IMAX Enhanced 4K UHD release of Blade Runner 2049, then I'm a happy bunny.

A very basic presentation. I only like IMAX Enhanced; as it brings expanded aspect ratio.

Very basic, very pointless presentation.

Imax Enhances Certified soundbar... wtf?
Subjective Viewing is part of IE certification... wtf?
IE Certification can be achieved not based on minimum requirements but based in what the TV can do... wtf?

So the Z9D should be more than capable of having this then. Come on Sony

Thanks for recording and posting that, Ebon.

Just watched it. I found it funny that Bruce Markoe makes no bones about IMAX DMR being only about DNR. And he explicitly states IMAX Enhanced will only be HDR10 and HDR10+, no Dolby Vision (36 minutes in). Not a surprise, but nice to have it confirmed. They also say it will eventually make it to streaming besides discs, but that's TBA.

that'd be like getting a Whopper at McDonald's - IMAX and Dolby will never intermingle.

I could easily live in a world where UHD has DTS and Imax Scenes in HDR10 and never look back once at Dolby.
