I see jack can refer to:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack

So, an one eyed fish --> One-Eyed Jacks!!!
Not just the eye, the waves made it look like 2 nostrils and a mouth. Like that of a girl in the water --> Ponyo. I'm not saying that's what it is, just what it reminded me of after Scottie mentioned Nausicaa

Criterion Cast is getting involved, too.

I could totally find other Ghibli referenes too. Like the house in the back, kind of sort of could be interpreted as a Castle in the Sky

I just noticed that the frame has a window lock. Perhaps A Room with a View?

Just was about to ask about that. I couldn't figure out what it was, and Criterion Cast didn't highlight it as a clue, but surely it's something

They'll probably just re-release all the Ghibli blus with no other change besides replacing the dubtitles with subtitles.

Wait...is the thing next to Nausicaa () a blood splatter spot or smoke and fire?

I doubt it. Criterion lost rights to all the Merchant Ivory films because things went sour between them.

Could the collapsed bridge signify a box set of the Final Destination movies?

Is there a chance that Criterion will release Blow Up or The Passenger?

Although i wouldn't understand a selection of the latter, since there is an ultimate edition of it.

And any comment on my suggestion (La Vie En Rose)?
I don't know how the thing with rights and stuff goes..
I want your suggestion to be correct! I've been waiting for La Vie en Rose to come out on blu-ray. I love Marion Cotillard and I've never seen the film.

Wait. I'm in the exact same situation! I'd love to see that.

In all seriousness, The New World, The Brood, and The Fisher King were the only ones that I picked out right off the bat. This is a difficult cartoon.

I hope that The Big Clock and One, Two, Three are both signified by the clock.

I also hope that Night and the City figures into the equation. (or While the City Sleeps)

I saw La Vie En Rose at the theater, and it's a bummer of a movie, but it's also quite brilliant.

Are the people holding knives wearing masks, or is that just me?

Who owns the rights to La Vie en Rose?

It appears that way, especially due to the back head of the furthest individual. Furthermore, they also look like they have Xs over their mouths.

It's one of the greatest performances I'v ever seen.
If it was another film than "Beauty and the Beast" (wishful thinking, lol), I would hope it would be that one.

Although I would be curious why the rose looks exactly like the one from Beauty and the Beast. It has the same curve!!
It could have been drawn in another way to avoid confusion.
And those 4 spots around it? Doesn't it seem like it's glowing?
I mean why someone would put some random spots?
