It's great to see them release more silents! The Lodger is a definite buy for me.

I think this is as close as we'll get to a month with some sort of alphabetical semblance

Lodger
Marseille Trilogy

Straw Dogs
They Live By Night
Ugetsu

Yes, I don't know why my brain does things like that either.

Nice month. Definitely in for The Lodger, Ugetsu and They Live by Night.

And now I can pinball back to hoping Seven Days in May will be in the next batch of WAC titles.

The 4K Straw Dogs upgrade is easily my favourite announcement in some time. Really digging the cover. Looks like they did the same as Eraserhead, having an artist paint the original poster as close to identical as possible.

A very strong month! They Live by Night is of course essential, and the Marseille Trilogy looks quite intriguing. I probably won't double-dip on Ugetsu, and am content with my Criterion DVD of Straw Dogs, but am very much looking forward to the Hitchcock two-fer.

Great to see more Hitchcock and Ray. Almost bought Ugetsu as a blind-buy half-a-dozen times during B&N sales, but for some reason never went through with it; the upgrade forces my hand. The Marseille Trilogy sounds interesting and an ideal sale pickup.

So that was a relatively short wait for me. Glad they can upgrade this for you.

I really don't know why Roman Holiday hasn't been released on BluRay by now. That would be a Day 1 buy for me.

I'll pick up The Lodger eventually, but I'm disappointed to see another month go by without another Harold Lloyd announcement.

Thanks for the heads up! I think I might have already known about this release actually and heard it was really bad quality. If you own it is that true?

Seven Days in May was released last November by WAC on MOD DVD. I'm not hopeful there.

I just saw something interesting on Albert Brooks' Twitter feed. It said Lost In America is coming to Criterion. Has this been confirmed?

Bearing in mind that I'm not a technical/video/audio wizard or anything like that, I wouldn't go so far as to say it's bad. With that being said, it's certainly not reference-quality or anything like that. Let me put it this way: although I'm happy to currently have it in my collection, if Criterion (or some other boutique label) announced they were coming out with a 4K remastering, I'd certainly double-dip.

Hope that helps.

Straw Dogs for me. And I'm really glad I held off on buying the UK edition. Any chance of the Criterion edition making its way to UK shops? Don't want to get to political but its pretty ironic that Straw Dogs is being released almost a year to day of the Brexit vote. Coincidence or something else?

Probably not. I assume that Fremantle still has the UK rights.

I think I'm genuinely interested in all of these. It's a good thing the B&N sale is taking place the next month; I'm sure I'll be getting most, if not all, of these then.

I haven't seen any of these, but I'm especially looking forward to They Live By Night--as I'm a fan of Ray, Granger, and noir-- and The Lodger, as I love me some Hitch.

Will have to look into that then, I actually have a region free player. I saw a box set from Japan but the price is insane and it seem no sub on it which is not a good idea. Not been easy finding his movies
