Although Amazon titles usually have better chances of seeing physical media (their films at least. Their TV shows are another story), usually from Lionsgate. I think all theatrical narrative films from Amazon have Blu-ray releases.

Had no idea it had a commentary! Only picked up EOne’s release of Maps to the Stars recently that came with an exclusive screenwriter commentary.

German release from Universum:

Tantalizing clip from "Cold War"...(be warned that it evidently contains a brief scene that may reflect on the ending!)

Don't usually blind-buy but loved this...the music, the imagery and pacing, the sensitivity and character in the faces, the mood of reverie. Does it generally reflect the film as a whole?

I find it interesting that many people have posted that they are disappointed with the announced November releases, while others are overjoyed. I think it's great that we all have different tastes. That's what makes the world go round.

I'm never all that excited about Double Dips, but I can get behind Betty Blue. Great movie in need of of a better release.

Really like Now Voyager.
Looking forward to blind buying Daytrippers.
May buy Cold War at a later date. I liked Pawel's last two features much more.

At least a B/B- month for me.

If you have Prime, Cold War is available in 4K UHD.

Maybe Cold War is Criterion’s first 4K UHD that they’ve been teasing, or maybe it’s Roma.

Makes me wish they got Luca Guadagnino’s Suspiria, which also seems up their alley. Lionsgate’s disc was basically barebones.

The father from hell-Ralph Richardson (The Heiress) allow me to introduce you to your counterpart, the mother from hell-Gladys Cooper (Now, Voyager). You two have a lot in common.

Thumbs down

I'm absolutely baffled by Criterion's addition of All About Eve to the collection. It's clearly an extraordinary film, but the in print digibook is a fantastic release, so I don't see a lot of room for improvement.

Physical media is dying, and with so many classics in desperate need of a blu-ray release, this just seems like wasted resources.

I have no issue with double dipping when doing so is warranted. I bought The Graduate, In the Heat of the Night and Some Like it Hot because the Criterion clearly represented an upgrade. I'll add Barry Lyndon for the same reason, and Lolita if and when Criterion gets it. Others like Dr. Strangelove and Notorious, have gone out of print, and while I owned both films on blu-ray already, both represented upgrades due to remasters, or restoration and remaster.

But I just watched All About Eve on blu-ray recently, and I just don't know how big of an improvement can be made. Unless somebody is hell bent on owning a Criterion because it's a Criterion, what's to stop a person from buying the digibook, saving money in the process?

Maybe Criterion knows something we don't. Maybe the 2011 FOX release is going out of print. Maybe Criterion saw an opening, and took it. But as of right now, does this announced release justify my spending another $20-23 on a film I already have? No.

I'm thrilled about Now, Voyager, and Cold War certainly interests me (the others I just don't know about yet). But, overall, I'm left scratching my head over this one decision.

At least, now Bette and Joan can hiss at each other for all eternity in the closet.

I'll take a release of American Splendor from any label that will treat it right. I cannot believe it's not on blu right now.

I assume theater dreamer meant that the original releases went OOP before Criterion released them.

I'm a big Bette Davis fan so I'm thrilled to see Now Voyager, but All About Eve is a very strange choice indeed. I would have loved to have seen The Little Foxes or The Letter.

Don’t. Buy. It. If money is your issue, it’s really that simple. There are many younger film lovers who might be persuaded to watch for the first time. Also they must have thought a restoration would be beneficial

That isn't really a clip. It's different parts from the whole movie edited into a montage ....including the ending.

If others haven't seen the film yet, do not watch that video.

But in answer to your question, yes it captures the mood and looks of the film.
