I'd call it possible.
Netflix is missing out with not letting Criterion release Bright, Underground 6 and the Kissing Booth trilogy.

The Criterion Collection will never be complete as long as it is missing Army of the Dead.

I mean I would like a physical release of that. But there is no way Criterion would touch it. I feel like the world would implode if they did.

Shout Factrory would be ideal for so many of Netflix's more mainstream, and horror films. The Mike Flanagan films, The Babysitter, the Ritual, The new TCM movie, etc.

I'd like a release of "I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House."

Very interesting episode, just watched it this morning. I've always really liked the film, but it's nice hearing from people directly involved in the making of it.

I'm surprised Criterion decided to release Okja and not Barking Dogs Never Bite?

Well, Criterion have been releasing the most prestigious Netflix films, so it's not really surprising. Do they have the rights to Barking Dogs? Does it have a workable HD master?

Has Criterion ever licensed anything that Magnolia Pictures distributed in the US? I don't think they have, but I'm not confident enough to phrase it as a statement instead of a question.

I'm hoping Criterion can get some films by Magnolia Pictures and other companies who hold the rights to some great Korean films. Have no idea how messy the rights issues may be, but a release of A Bittersweet Life and A Tale of Two Sisters (with a new restoration) would be a dream come true for me.

I'd love to see a release of Nowhere to Hide (1999), but I feel that would be more fitting for Arrow Video's catalog.

Nonetheless, glad Criterion is slowly releasing Korean and Chinese movies more often lately and hoping they will continue to do so.

I was hoping for the latter to be a special feature.

I removed contacting Magnolia about potentially releasing a Blu of the film since Parasite had, at the time, won a lot of Oscars. They didn't have any wish to release it.

But if anyone were I would think Criterion would pay for the rights from Magnolia to release it.

I also feel like a reason it might never see a upgraded from dvd release is because Bong isn't the biggest fan of the film.

Yeah, Magnolia doesn't license their films unfortunately.

Magnolia released a few decent titles on Blu-ray, but for whatever reasons skipped Shoplifters on Blu-ray which I thought was the best foreign film of the year. (Better than Roma) The type of people who would buy that film are more likely to buy it on Blu-ray than DVD I would imagine.

I do think it’d be fun if someone convinced the Snyder crowd to give up on their Restore The SnyderVerse campaign and shift gears to campaign to get a Criterion release of one of his Netflix movies. #ReleaseTheSnyderCriterion!

Looks like there are quite a few releases outside the US though. https://www.blu-ray.com/Shoplifters/928372/

It's on streaming services like Amazon Prime, Crackle, etc. It looks better than a normal DVD rip to me.
