That might have also been what TDB meant when Lost Highway was rumored for September.
TDB then: "Watch for the physical 4K UHD release to arrive probably in September."

TDB now: "Lost Highway is now likely to street in November or December."

I'm not aware of TDB announcing when future announcements are coming. Aren't they typically discussing the actual release dates?

Given that there are only various releases of the film available via some pretty weak international DVD versions, will we ever see this film get the attention it deserves. Even with the TCM version, which seems to be the best one around, the film is sorely in need of restoration. One can only hope...
I watched it, hoping for the best, but the same dupey looking sequences were still there.

Just received Raging Bull and am very contented that it is NOT a DigiPack, after all, but is in a case. I actually prefer that. At least the regular blu ray is, anyway. That's what I got.

I watched it earlier this year on the Criterion Channel, and I recall seeing mention of the Film Foundation. What's confusing to me is that I thought Film Foundation titles are restored, but what they showed clearly wasn't.

Criterion has changed the home video industry once again by introducing a dog commentary

My friends and I are going to be deeply interested to hear some of the analysis the dogs will bring up in their new commentary

I can't confirm if he did it first but Uwe Boll has a commentary with one of his dogs on one of his films.

Criterion is late to the game again. The 2009 Air Bud DVD had a Dog-U-Commentary with The Buddies:

This is the kind of absurdly-niche physical media knowledge that makes this place the best forum on earth.

I just hope Criterion doesn't get busted for running a dog fighting ring out of their offices.

Criterion

I believe I've "solved" the mystery of "Jon Mulvaney". The recent news of Dog Day Afternoon coming soon as reported by The Dogs of Criterion made things clear.

In the movie Dog Day Afternoon, the bank manager Mulvaney is played by Sully Boyar. I don't believe his first name is said in the movie but the script refers to him as Patrick Mulvaney. Patrick is not a first name you give when making up a name. You typically go with John/Jon or Joe. So "Jon Mulvaney" was the name selected to represent Criterion in customer service dealings.

Every so often people say "Jon Mulvaney" does not exist because there are no pictures of him online. It's often said his name is simply a standin for any given customer service agent. I think it's quite clear "Jon Mulvaney" is not a human being. Mr. Mulvaney is a dog.
