Really Criterion, again? This time Walkabout 4K, I'll replace them at Amazon. Given the total import costs for these, I'm not happy getting torn covers because of manufacturing errors.

I hate it when that happens. Some of my Kino Blu-ray and studio UHD orders suffer from that as well.

I'm aware of that reddit post, but that's a pretty standard non-response from Criterion. They're never going to confirm future titles to someone asking. Unless Studiocanal are refusing to license it back to Criteiron, or SC has their own plans to release it (via Lionsgate), I'm still hopeful we'll see a CC release eventually.

It's the 14th. Announcements are typically done on the 15th, or later.

Werckmeister for sure, I would think, sometime this year. A Tarr set would be even better.

I am hoping Medium Cool is not upgraded to 4K for the sole reason that I have the standard blu-ray. Criterion's upgrades to 4K have happened a couple of times shortly after I bought the standard versions. The Princess Bride and McCabe & Mrs. Miller come to mind. Bound to happen, though, I'm not complaining that much.

I would like to see 4K upgrades of Seven Samurai and On the Waterfront for their 70th anniversaries, however.

Is it too much to ask that the next Scorsese selection will be The Color of Money (40th anniversary), and that they package it with The Hustler? Pretty please.

That's ok with me as I've always thought it was overrated and there are other Powell movies I would rather see come out from the big C.

I would want a boxset of Bela Tarr’s early films, including his TV movie, Macbeth! I don’t think Criterion can do much to improve the already released Tarr films. So a boxset of those would feel like a waste.

Not the Antoine Doinel! While not a complete Truffaut set, would be a pretty good one!

Can't tell until I see the uniquely impractical packaging.

Probably gonna be a big, cardboard box of Jean-Pierre Léaud's head with a series of boxes inside for each film, each box a slightly smaller version of a slightly young Léaud.

And the discs are impossible to get out because he has attachment issues.
