To be fair it entered the Eureka Masters of Cinema recently so it isn't without precedent.

Trying to think of other Criterion-friendly animation releases that aren't Disney or in a tightly-controlled catalogue. When The Wind Blows, Animal Farm, Fritz the Cat, Anomalisa, Corpse Bride, A Town Called Panic?Outsider chance of Chicken Run?

They've got Flow and Isle of Dogs coming so they're definitely aware of and actively working on the deficit.

The only thing that could explain having this many copies is having anterograde amnesia. Just like that guy from Memento, except your tattoo says "Buy a copy of Norbit"
