Or it could be a typo. There's a lot of incorrect information on these pages right now: The Thin Red Line's aspect ratio is wrong, no info on lossless audio for Charade and Breathless, etc.

On the other hand, they have publicly declared that they're planning to go Blu whenever they can. Unfortunately for the Von Sternberg silents they don't have the license for Blu.

True, I'm just glad about the releases. Now if only we can get the crappy Oct announcements out of the way and focus on the big NOV-DEC announcements (Chaplin, New Hollywood, yes and Seven Samurai).

Calm down, young whipper-snapper. It's only a typographical error.

You know what I was thinking,

Criterion should make their own Breathless shirts up for $17 like the Hausu shirt. It will sell like hot cakes and get those Rodarte $150 iron-on shirts the hell out of here.

Does anyone know if Criterion will be releasing the Fritz Lang Mabuse set? If not, I'll just order the MoC version but was wondering for those who have been following their Facebook site, if they saw anything about a potential release.

I haven't heard anything. The MoC one looks really nice and the only thing that will be better, is on blu, and I don't think Criterion is going to do a blu box of Mabuse anytime soon. I really need to get me a region free player because there is so much stuff to get.

Haven't bought an all-region Blu-ray player but the all-region Phillips (the ones that play divx) are sold at Target for $39 and you can easily play imports on that player.

I'm glad there is another Oshima release for September.

I hope October gives us Halloween themed releases: Hausu, Antichrist, and Videodrome.

Only $39 and can play all MoCs? Thanks alot. I might buy that soon. I just need a dvd one anyway. The MoC blus that I want (Murnau films and Godard) can play on any U.S. blu players right? If so, I just need a region free dvd player for the dvds I want. Thanks alot.

I hope they just make the packaging a smaller version of the dvd. That packaging is one of my favs. Seeing that The Leopard was a digipak, looks like my dream will come true.

ONLY THING MISSING:

And I would not ask for another Godard re-release. They can make all of Kurosawa's films on blu for all I care. Just make this happen Criterion.

I will be very happy to have a month with no Kurosawa release since I can have Audrey on Blu-ray

Ok for Audrey I am even willing to go with 4 months without Kurosawa

Breathless, The Thin Red Line AND Charade? Have to say, that's unbelievable! Best month for Criterion Blu-Ray yet.

You don't have to wait that long. Seven Samurai will be coming Nov or Dec. I can feel it.

November could have Seven Samurai and a 7 film New Hollywood Boxset on blu.

December could have Seven Samurai and no telling what type of Chaplin film(s).

Those look like $$$$ for Criterion.

Yeah, it's great. One of the best Hitchcock movies (that he never made!)

I am actually with you on Masculin Féminin, I would love seeing that on Blu-ray. I hope Seven Samurai is not at the sametime as the Chaplin release and not in December, that would just be too darn hard on my wallet

Yeah, they all play. Just make sure you look at the # and look online. I think the latest being sold at Target are the DVP3980's but check this site and you can see how to make your hardware all region via a few button press on the remote.
