I never thought I'd join a Blu-ray forum and watch my DVD collection grow. Thanks to Criterion (and others) I have greatly expanded my viewing experience and pleasure.

Recently added on blu: Red Desert; The General; Sunrise

Just purchased on DVD and waiting for arrivial: Flesh for Frankenstein; Blood for Dracula; and Wild Strawberries.

I haven't seen any of these yet, but I am looking forward to all of them. I love this site (but my wallet doesn't).

I am sure Studio Canal will find some way to mess up their Third Man transfer upon eventual release.

I'll +1 all of these... especially Rohmer and Cassavetes. I'd also like to see:

Krzysztof Kieslowski (the UK release of 'Double Life of Veronique' is stunning, but had to include him mainly because he's one of my absolute favorites)
Marcel Carné (Children of Paradise)
David Lean (Brief Encounter)
René Clément (Forbidden Games)
Jean-Pierre Melville

Did you get the Criterion version of "Blood for Dracula" ??? I just purchased it (hasn't arrived yet) and was curious where you got it, and how much it was.

That, unfortunately, was one of the titles just pulled by StudioCanal, so if it comes out on BD, it will be through them.

Sorry to go off on a tangent here, but does anyone have any kind of complete list of the StudioCanal owned-titles in the Criterion Collection? Obviously I know about the ones that have already gone OOP, but there are many more, and I think at this point it's pretty safe to assume that Criterion will eventually lose all of them.

Good list. I should of included a film to each of my directors as well:

Louis Malle (Elevator to the Gallows)

Luis Buñuel (The Exterminating Angel, though picked due to the others being OOP. If I can pick out of the OOPs as well, it would be either Diary of a Chambermaid or The Milky Way)

John Cassavetes (A Woman Under the Influence or the rumored to be Criterion Love Streams would be the best bet.)

Eric Rohmer (prob something new in the collection, unless they want to do all of the 6 Moral Tales)

Maurice Pialat (could of been L’enfance nue)

I purchased both Blood for Dracula and Flesh for Frankenstein used through 2nd party sellers from Amazon.com for $22.98 apiece. I have bought many titles used from Amazon and only been "burned" once. And that was a damaged case - the disc played perfectly. I watch who I buy from and look at their seller rating closely; I try to buy from individuals and I stay away from "former rentals" for the most part. So far it's been good to me.

Yes - both are Criterion editions.

Tokyo Olympiad currently $80.25 new on Amazon.com and used starting at $54.99.

Flesh for Frankenstein is $51.99 new or used starting at $18.50

Blood for Dracula is $48.48 new or used starting at $19.99

I rarely buy the cheapest price but look for good deals among the lowest prices.

Yeah I was looking at the New Tokyo for like $124, the one fulfilled by amazon. I would never buy a used OOP Criterion, just for some reason want a brand new one even though ill open it 3min after getting it :]

I already have Flesh for Frankenstein and Blood for Dracual...and many many more OOP now that they are starting to give us heads ups about them.
