Then Person 1 comes back with: Well, The Social Network was a much superior film with a top notch screenplay that didn't need to rely on an ill conceived and convoluted dream logic to tell its story!" ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Note: I am not attacking either film, it's just that these two always seem to get pitted against one another, due to being high profile films that were released within a small time span. |

Punch Drunk Love was a pretty good film. The Wedding Singer was not a particularly offensive film either. |

127 Hours - Danny Boyle - This was really good. anyone who's claustrophobic or has a weak stomach, avoid. I had a little dust in my eyes at the end. - 8/10 Black Swan - Darren Aronofsky - What the hell? I have no idea what the hell I just watched. Special effects were awesome, but the film was total mindfark, and wasn't that enjoyable. - 4/10 The Fighter - David O. Russell - Another boring as crap film. I guess I just hate boxing films. I had no interest in watching this in the first place, and only watched it because of my goal. Do not recommend. - 4/10 Inception - Christopher Nolan - Holy Overrated Batman! It's an interesting concept and an interesting film but not the best picture of the year. Of course the film was hyped up waaay to much to me by a Nolan fanboy. The special effects are fantastic, but the film feels waaay too slow. - 7/10 The Kids Are All Right - Lisa Cholodenko - Indifferent, it's not bad, but it's not good either. It has some humourous moments. - 5/10 The King's Speech - Tom Hooper - Fantastic film. Colin Firth was amazing. The film had quite a few humorous moments in it as well. Prediction for Best Picture Winner for the 83rd Academy Awards - 10/10 The Social Network - David Fincher - Overrated. Boring, yet at the same time, disgusting at how the creators of stalkerbook were portrayed. If this is anywhere near factual, I'm not sure if I still want a facebook account. - 3/10 Toy Story 3 - Lee Unkrich - This was really good. Not quite best picture material, but it will most likely beat How to Train Your Dragon, which I liked a little bit more, for best animated picture. This is coming from someone who has only seen most of the first one, and hardly any of the second. - 8/10 True Grit - Joel and Ethan Coen - If I could combine John Wayne, Glen Campbell, Hailee Steinfeld, Robert Duvall, Josh Brolin, Dennis Hopper, the Coens directing and their screenplay, Elmer Bernstein's score, and Roger Deakins's cinematography, the film would be absolutely perfect. I'm far more partial to the original, but this new adaptation is fantastic. Hailee Steinfeld is much improved over Kim Darby. Glen Campbell is just slightly better than Matt Damon, but not by much. Robert Duvall and John Wayne own their respective characters, Barry Pepper and Jeff Bridges are fine, but are just lacking. I also though Dennis Hopper made a pretty good Moon in the original. This version is closer to the original source material, which I think makes the story slightly more enjoyable than the 1969 version. However, John Wayne still really sells me on the 1969 version. Also, I grew up with it, and I am therefore more predispositioned towards it. - 8/10 Winter's Bone - Debra Granik - "Hillbillies" are farking scary. Seriously. Jennifer Lawrence is phenominal, can't wait to see more from her. The film is fascinating and at times confusing, but it's far more enjoyable that some of the other nominations this year. - 7/10 Quote:

Both 1.77:1 & 1.78:1 aspect ratios should fill up your entire 16:9 television screen since 16 divided by 9 equals 1.7777777. A 1.85:1 ratio should yield very thin black bars along the top and bottom of the image. Last edited by ccfixx; 11-29-2011 at 10:26 PM. |
