Yeah I set it up to record:

Circus
Fallen Idol
I Married A Witch
Monsieur Verdoux
Thief Of Baghdad (Sabu)
Witness For The Prosecution

I could have also recorded the films I have on my Wish List:

Annie Hall
Apartment
It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World

But my DVR's storage space isn't very much and I plan on owning those someday anyway, so.

Bad news. Thank you KrugerIndustrial. I wonder if the rights are still up in the air. It would be a great disappoint not to release this film with criterion's magical touch. The disappointment would be on the same scale as Ran being released by studiocanal. I am still bitter about that and The Third Man.

Looks like your interests are suspense/thriller. Diabolique or The Game

Bob is a Studio Canal film.

ha, I have Diabolique on my Netflix and can't wait to see it. I saw the Game and it is one of those movies you can really only watch once. Maybe a few years down the road I will revisit.

Words of wisdom, indeed.

It looks as though I'm stuck with my Criterion DVD of Bob Le Flambeur for a while, but I do hope that Le Samouraï hits Blu-ray this year.

Not that I won't jump at the chance to buy Bob Le Flambeur if StudioCanal releases it on Blu-ray. It's that good, and StudioCanal worked some outright wonders with La Grande Illusion.

I very happy that at least we got Breathless, Vivre sa Vie and the other Melville movies on criterion blu ray being studiocanal films also.

Pretty sure they collect tax in KY because that is where their warehouse is located.

I'd like to see Criterion release Melville's Un Flic. It's a great film, even with the Thunderbirds-style model helicopter scene.

That sequence kind of sinks the film for me, feels never ending.

I am hoping for a release too. The Melville criterion blu ray cover art are some of my favorites. They have a very pleasant style to them. I hope they will keep the trend.

Here's the cover of my Un Flic DVD...

I'd like to see Criterion (or somebody else) release the Blu-ray with this original cover, though...

The original cover is so much cooler.

I took one puff of a cigarette when I was 12 years old, decided that I did not like it, and never touched a cigarette again. I generally have zero tolerance for cigarette smoke. I do believe, however, that cigarettes look cool in Melville movies, and in a great many other older films. In fact, tendrils of cigarette smoke in older black-and-white movies look great on Blu-ray.

Missed out on On The Waterfront during the flash sale. Hopefully I can get it at a B&N sale. Was able to grab Walkabout and High and Low, 2 I had been holding off on too long. Still had a $10 off coupon from getting my Three Colors White replaced, so I came out with a pretty good deal.

It was hinted, I'm pretty sure...they actually air it rather often, from what I've seen.

Ya, that is an awesome poster and it would be a great cover. That grainy photograph Alain Delon with the smoke tells you a lot about the content of the film. With the awesome movie posters of the past, there was no need for a trailer.

I started smoking in college. I attributed it partially to see all those 1950-70s film noir movies (my university had a great selection of classic films); Bogart and Belmondo were artists with their cigarettes, inspired me to be a midnight, social cigarette smoker. I quit 7 years ago and have not touch one since.
