I would love to see Criterion release Desperate Living this year. Pretty sure WB has Pink Flamingos, as has been mentioned in the past, but DL is my favorite John Waters film.

I'll second A Place in the Sun, and how about a blu ray of Patricia Rozema's I've Heard the Mermaids Singing? I have the (very old) DVD but I'd love to see that forgotten gem given the deluxe treatment.

I would love for more Waters on blu, especially on Criterion. Maybe his New Line and Lionsgate titles could get nabbed too.

You guys are both traitors to the OFFICIAL ASCOT Thread. I just hope the KINO Insider doesn't see this as it would break his heart!

I could be wrong, and again I've never heard anything about about any potential blu-ray for it. It has long been a favorite of mine, and I try to revisit my DVD of it every two to three years.
It’s one of Mankiewicz’s most underrated films in my book. Never really understood why that was.

I'd be gobsmacked if we got The Straight Story.

I know a lot assumed that the Soderbergh set that has been talked about recently would come from Criterion, but it sounds like he is putting it out himself through his website.
Email from his site:
Quote:
Now, I hate to jinx this, but while I was perusing Mr/Dr Soderbergh’s private email exchanges I saw evidence of its existence and we all need something to look forward to, so I’m putting it out there: I’m PRETTY SURE that in the fourth quarter of this year Mr/Dr Soderbergh will be making available through this site — a limited-edition boxed set of seven films that he now controls the rights to and has remastered in 4K HDR (KAFKA, SCHIZOPOLIS, GRAY’S ANATOMY, FULL FRONTAL, BUBBLE, THE GIRLFRIEND EXPERIENCE, AND EVERYTHING IS GOING FINE). It appears the KAFKA re-edit will be called MR. KNEFF (both versions will be part of the set), and SCHIZOPOLIS and FULL FRONTAL have been “tightened”. Again, he doesn’t know I know this, so keep this on the DL, yes? Just pretend you never heard about it when he brings it up. Act EXCITED.

I'm sure it's stuck in a vault until there's a heist to get it.
But Lynch can work in mysterious ways and maybe the stars will align and we'll get it.

Hmmm, the Bunuel set has spines on the individual releases but not on the box itself. Where to shelve it. . .

Maybe he can use its release on home media as a bargaining chip when they approach him to direct the live action Fantasia.

I don't think Nights of Cabiria will be getting a stand alone release any time soon because it was part of the Fellini set.

I would love a Bringing Up Baby release though.

I'd be down. Only if they let him score it.

I bet Cabiria and La Strada both get individual upgrade releases this year actually, similar to the Bergman titles that got upgrades.

To be fair, that song could be used in pretty much every thread on this board.

It's just another strike against sorting by spine number

It's time for Mr. Lynch and Mr. House to have a conversation.
