Last year, I received an email announcing it at 12:15, just after the sale had begun. Not sure if there was earlier notification on social media.

That brings up an important point that I had forgotten to consider. I, of course, have a plan for the flash sale, but will I be able to follow through on that if any of it is out of stock?

Well, I checked, and I'm lucky in that all 5 are in stock. So, whew...the plan remains.

Well I just got a gift card for Criterion from a friend, so I figured I would order during their flash sale and since Paramount is putting out Don't Look Now in addition to several other titles Criterion has already released, I thought I'd get them just in case they do go OOP.

I'm giving 80+% chance it's 23rd, 15% for 3/2 and less than 5 for any other date including 'Not at all" which I think is a distant last place

It's the opening words of the story the movie comes from:



I think it has some resonance too re: the theme of faulty perception that permeates the vision.

How significant does it have to be? The entire film is about vision and perception/misperception, a blind psychic who "sees" without seeing, etc. I'm sure if you think about it, you can come up with your own interpretation based on the film's events. There are hundreds of book or movie titles that are lot more opaque than this one.

Yeah, I would say Criterion is shaking in their britches to avoid controversy. They don’t want/need any backlash in this climate. Times are dangerous.
