Also, why not just buy the movie at a retail B&N store location DURING the sale and still get it half off...it wasn't an online only sale...
I think sales are more harm than good.
I feel better if I purchase just one movie that I truly want by paying full price rather than paying twice the amount but getting multiple titles at 50% off each.

I just like having movies in my collection that I really want.

Yes but what if you can have 2 movies for the price of only one and you really want both of them?

I love this Criterion sale, the prices for them are so crazy here in Canada I usually can only grab a few and rent some of the others I would love to have in my collection. A sale like this let's me grab a few more without hurting my wallet to much

B&N stores remove all their slipcovers.

Not all stores. Mine keeps them on for all the releases that have them.

My store is odd. They get rid of 99% of the slips but I usually see one that has one.

Now, all 4 movies are sent except Seven Samurai, which expected shipping estimate is delayed till Dec 6th.

Coclusion: I will never deal with their sale ever again. I will just go grab the movie tomorow myself from a retail stor and pay full price of 50$.
Geez, you're impatient.

What is wrong with someone wanting something as soon as they can?

I am, for Seven Samurai.

All my life I have heard nothing but positive about this movie but never got the chance to see it.
Plus, my father is a Kurasawas biggest fan, so he will literally start jumping when he sees that I bought Seven Samurai, especially on blu ray.

For some movies I really can get impatient (like new animation releases, Avatar) but most of the time I can resist the time if I am getting something like a steelbook for a movie I am not dying to see right away.
Seven Samurai does not belong to this category though. I need to have it.

Any chance there will ever be an Eclipse series or a Criterion release of Roman Polanski's early short films? I like his work, and was reading about them online and got very curious.

I actually rented The Ghost Writer from a redbox out of boredom not knowing he directed it.

When it comes to Blu-rays, I think we're all a little impatient.

BBS STORY:

I was able to obtain this set over the weekend. Watched Last Picture Show, Five Easy Pieces, King of Marvin Gardens and Drive He Said. Tried watching A Safe Place and turned it off after a half hour, it was really going nowhere. Picture Show and Five Easy Pieces are the Best of the set. Marvin Gardens I liked, thought Ellen Burstyn was amazing. PQ quality I thought Five Easy Pcs looked the best, followed by Marvin Gardens. I appreciated the BW gritty and grainy of Picture Show. Overall, I think it is a fantastic set. I'll watch supplements sometime this week.

Congratulations to me.
Just got my first ever Criterion (The Seventh Seal) and this set looks and feels beautifull.
Now I understand why you people collect Criterions.

I might just give up collecting steels and start working on Criterion.
