So a UK Criterion of La Dolce Vita is forthcoming despite the North American disc being OOP? Man are film distribution rights f**ked up sometimes!

Not bothered by the Kane cover, as I trust Criterion will make it snazzier in the final packaging.

They could have done much more than a K, but maybe it'll have some sort of special effect or material when the real thing is released.

In just a month this forum went from “a KANE release would be so useless” to “how dare they ruin the cover of such a film!!”

Lol, someone literally basically posted the latter recently.

Mulholland Drive is beating Kane to release by a week so the K in 4K is K2, and MIIS in IVK is KIII, OK?

So let me get this straight. Criterion is dropping DVDs and only releasing BD/UHD combo packs, for $50? I sure am glad the Criterion Channel is up and running because their physical media plan is dead on arrival. Of course, that may be their intended goal.

It’s called moving forward. UHD is the format to be on now and Criterion has shown that they want to be part of it.

Nothing. The newsletter didn't state all UHDs six were releasing in November.

They thought the red shoes went better with a Christmas theme. Now if they had been orange shoes . . .

They didn't say they'd all be released in November. I thought they'd be even more spread out, to be honest.

You've got to kidding me. DVDs sell better than UHDs. Blu-Rays sell better than UHDs. Yes, some UHDs look incredible. But not only are they unplayable by the majority of the populace, but most people couldn't care less.

That’s going to change in the years to come. Every ps5 and new Xbox that has a disc player can play uhd’s a and as people upgrade their tv’s they’re going to be 4k hdr10/dv compatible.

It’s the way forward anyway you look at it.

Also to add to the previous message dvd sales are strong because they sell them next to cash registers of super markets and in stores dirt cheap, this isn’t representative of the typical criterion buyer. Only people who still buy criterion DVD’s are probably libraries. I’m sure everyone on forums such as here, Reddit, Twitter etc are blu ray shoppers at the very least.
