I remember there being a delay around the announcement of the Godzilla boxset. Like they delayed from the Tuesday then ended up announcing the rest of the titles, then finally a week or so later announced the Godzilla set.

But I don't remember a time the entire line-up was delayed.

I'm curious if they have to reconfirm a license agreement, or maybe hoping one comes through shortly...

Also, not going to lie, I would totally buy this in a heartbeat:

I would think it now is the time it would make the most difference to be honest. If it wins an award in two weeks people might want to check it out and see if it's available to order or pre-order. If it's not, some people will just forget about it and move on.

As mentioned, Pink Flamingos was released on March 17, 1972. The fact that Criterion moved their release to that day is unlikely to be a coincidence.

Well if they don’t announce it then, I’m sure they know what I think they should eat.

Well, it’s also on HBO Max and the Japanese standard BD release has English subs so if they want to check it out, they’ve got a solid pair (a digital and a physical) of options to explore. So the whole argument you make kinda falls apart.

Yeah, Warner acquiring it for HBO Max almost certainly means a BD won't be announced or released soon.

I don't think most people are going to order a Japanese international release, although a lot of people do have HBO Max, so I guess there is that. I'm actually surprised as to how many people have HBO Max. Either way, for CRITERION, this is probably the best time to announce it.

Well, with The Tales of Hoffman basically confirmed, and Pink Flamingos a strong likelihood, I still stand by my other hopes for After Hours and maybe a Pasolini.

Gimme something that doesn't already have a Blu-ray.

Ford's The Informer, if it must be Irish themed.
