It was pointed out in the past that they licensed Uncut Gems from Lionsgate, rather than A24. They've licensed a few others from them in the past too like Amores Perros, Kicking and Screaming, and Naqoyqatsi.

Cure is a phenomenal film. I have the Masters of Cinema BD import from a few years ago.

Honestly, I would say this is the strongest month of the year for me for Criterion. November is usually pretty heavy as well though.

If I pick up 1 title a month from Criterion, I consider it adequate. 2 titles, a success. 3 titles? A miracle.

Either way, I don't think anyone will be complaining this month.

I do believe that they do have a deal with Lionsgate, as they've released several films now that were released in the States by Artisan and/or Lionsgate.

"Uncut Gems", "Amores Perros", and "Ghost Dog" immediately spring to mind as having been Lionsgate (as well as "Eve's Bayou").

Ghost Dog was licensed directly from the production company Plywood Productions.
