Very nice month!! One of my favorite films ever, Wings of Desire gets the ultimate treatment. I'm so glad I didn't buy the AE one. I had a feeling CC would not let me down and so far it paid off. Branded to Kill gets a 4K, although I always thought the blu looked great, so I may wait a bit for that. Thelma is also a purchase and Targets has been on my radar. Almost every release will be on my shelf sometime from this month...I haven't said that about a CC month in I don't know how long. Good stuff..

They'll probably mess up the other way, including only English subs for the German dialog, leaving the HOH to decipher Peter Falk's mumbling by themselves.

I can't agree with the alarmist aspect of this post, but I do hope that Criterion releases at least one new-to-Blu classic Hollywood movie before the end of the July sale.

Good point. Their current Blu-ray is exactly like that. Should suggest additional English SDH option to Jon Mulvaney (mulvaney@criterion.com).

I may pick up Branded to Kill on 4K. If I ever get Petite Maman or Wings of Desire on 4K I'll probably end up buying the UK discs.

We're definitely going to get The Devil and Daniel Webster, Trouble in Paradise, and A Woman of Paris before long.

Targets. Yes!!! Didn't see this coming. Karloff lives again. And Thelma and Louise in 4K, no less.

Great announcements for May. Wings of Desire and Branded to Kill upgrades are a must have for me.

It didn't make the May announcement yesterday, but I did get an email that EO is coming to the Criterion Channel starting 2/21. Look forward to watching it, and hopefully that's a good sign for a future CC disc release as well.

If anyone can confirm the Three Colors Trilogy UHD release from Criterion has evaded the Mexican pressing plant signature I'll consider importing rather than wait for the Curzon.

Trouble in Paradise is one that I've been waiting for a blu ray release considering Criterion released the DVD 20 years ago.

Is there a rumor that it is being released on blu? They've released other Ernst Lubitsch films on blu-ray, so hopefully they'll do the same for this title soon.

Are any of their current US releases not pressed in Mexico?

I’m watching A Room With a View and there is a flickering happening with the picture. There are there light lines about an inch wide that keep flickering. Is this a known issue? Doesn’t happen on every shot but I keep seeing it.

I only wanted to comment that Criterion's May 2022 lineup is absolutely insane. We get a new 4K restoration of "Thelma and Louise", our first Seijun Suzuki 4K, "Wings of Desire" on UHD (hopefully it will best the Curzon release, which had some issues with the subtitles), "Petite Maman" for Region A and finally, after a long period of wait, Peter Bodganovich's "Targets" (though the BFI is supposed to be around the corner with an extras-laden Region B edition of this). WOW! What a month!

They will most likely use the subtitle track they already used on the previous blu, especially with no mention of "new and improved subtitle translation" etc.
