And that's what I heard, that the DCP is censored, from people who had seen the new screening. But it could be that way for playing theatrically and still keeping an R rating, who knows. The DCP for 2001 was different than the UHD disc (the DCP had Nolan's gray/green color grading while the disc did not), so one doesn't necessarily mean the other is tainted.
You mean Christopher Nolan?

If so, what’s his involvement with EWS?

Nothing. Nolan was brought in to "oversee' the 2001 re-release before the UHD came out.

One has nothing to do with the other. I was just pointing out the DCP was different than the disc version, so having a censored EWS DCP doesn't mean the disc will be that way.

I am in for everything in October. It’s been a while since that has happened. Now that we’re getting Videodrome in 4K I wonder how long it will be until we get Scanners in 4K. I need to see heads exploding in super clear 4K

As of yesterday, that cover was a fan-made mockup of the WAC Blu-ray of Freaks that never happened.

What other WB titles is Criterion rumored to have? After Hours, Freaks, what else?
Criterion 100% has John Sayles' Lone Star, as confirmed by Sayles himself. Although as of earlier this year, they were either just beginning to work on it or hadn't started yet.

They are also heavily rumored to have Pat Garrett & Billy The Kid, Scorsese's Mean Streets, Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore & Who's That Knocking At My Door (Which a lot of people thought might be in a box set with After Hours, but obviously that didn't happen).

So the new Blu-ray release of Don't Look Now is the same release from 2015 correct?

Maybe they could throw New York, New York in while they’re at it and I can retire all my Scorsese DVDs once and for all.

Sure? Arrow release is also a 4k OCN master approved by Cronenberg - they have both unrated DC and US theatrical cuts.

I have Videorome Arrow and I almost buy Don't Look Now from Studio Canal (glad that I wait on this).
Most likely same 4K masters as the SC and Arrow releases.

Well, one of the long awaited titles, Freaks, has finally been released by Criterion. I believe I watched the film in one of my university film classes but it's been over 20 years. As a curiosity to me, I will check it out again.

Congrats to everyone who approve of October's releases.

As MifuneFan mention, tread lightly when looking into it, as the film really hinges on a certain surprise that is better left unspoiled.

Don't Look Now is in my top 10 films of all time. For me it captures a constant state of dread that no other film has replicated for me. It feels like something bad is going to happen but you don't quite know what and when. This in combination with the beautiful scenery of Venice, it's slower pace, and unconventional editing keep your eyes glued to the screen (well for me at least). Also, Pino Donaggio's score is simply magnificent, and is one of the great film soundtracks of all time.

I highly recommend it, but maybe rent it before buying the Criterion. It is a slow film and not too many things happen in it when compared to other horror films (I don't even know if I can call it "horror"), so it isn't for everyone.

I've only picked up After Hours 4K and Petite Maman from B&N but they're still sitting on the order. Should've purchased from Amazon instead.

Yeah, if you don't know anything about DLN consider yourself very lucky and enjoy the film. I wasn't lucky enough to be a DLN virgin

I wonder if Janus Contemporaries will be a separate announcement, or they simply won't be coming till November at the earliest now.

I hadn't heard about Waters wanting to release an edited version. What does he want cut?

I am in for Videodrome 4k HDR (I missed out on Arrow arte original) and Ted Browning collection (the best announcement since the Fellini set). Will The Other movie be HDR?

Interestingly, both designed by the same artist, which you can tell by looking at them, as they both share a similar carnival/festive theme with their designs.

As for The Others, there's no HDR on that, likely the director's choice, as he supervised the release. It'll no doubt be a huge improvement over any existing release to date based on the few screenshots on Criterion's page.
