Criterion for sure got the rights to all of the Michael Haneke films that Kino released, right?

I’m just wondering how long Criterion will make me wait before they release The Castle!

I would love Criterion to release a set of Bill Plympton works. They already have some type of deal to include some on the Criterion Channel.

First, Le Samourai will be getting an international 4K release from Pathé in November. Criterion worked on the restoration with Pathé, so we can expect a 4K release from them as well.

Next, Peeping Tom (1960) will be coming to 4K from Studio Canal, also tentatively in November. Very strong chance of this one getting a 4K release from Criterion as well.

Unfortunately, it appears the French UHD release of Le Samourai will only be a limited edition with a vinyl record that’ll retail for €70.

I noticed that too. I have to imagine there will be a regular release eventually as well.

Breathless never actually got a standard UHD edition in France, only in the UK (and in Italy courtesy of Eagle Pictures).

I also have hopes to see this in Criterion someday, October or not.

I'm assuming you are joking. However, just in case, I convinced my mom to watch this with me when I was younger. It traumatized her and she was horrified by it and I feel like she might have preferred not seeing it.

However, YMMV.

You should ease your mom into The Shining by watching Salo or Straw Dogs first.

Might as well go all in and throw on Caligula why you’re at it

Picked up the Ranown set despite owning but never viewing the same films released by another premium label. I enjoy Westerns and I want to experience them in the best possible format. I figure these must be great films if Criterion saw fit to remaster them for UHD. We're living in a world where Blu-ray companies have convinced us that spending $75 is a good "sale" price

I wanted to use Pay-In-4 for this but I was never even directed to the Paypal site - it just went all the way through to Order Completed I don't think that's ever happened before.

Which is weird, because you have to go through several steps to complete a purchase via PP, including selecting a credit card and address (I have more than one).
