Despite being a huge Vincent Price fan, some how I had never even heard of it. I swear, I don't think it was EVER on Tv in L.A. in the 60's or 70's. I love it and hope to see it get upgraded someday. I do remember that exchange we had, but I don't remember actually recommending THE BIG CIRCUS as I have not seen it in years. Oh well, if I did, then I'm glad you enjoyed it. Those early Irwin Allen pictures are always a gamble. Wait a minute: Every Irwin Allen picture is a gamble! But I'm with you on liking circus movies and I'm always on the lookout for ones that are new to me!

I really enjoyed it. It is one of those films that succeeded despite having a very troubled production due to Chaplin's personal problems (filming was actually suspended for 8 months), a major fire at Chaplin's studios and even the discovery of a scratched negative one month into filming. No, I have yet to see Chaplin's THE CIRCUS, but your impressions are duly noted. I'm not a big Chaplin fan, but I've always had interest in this one because of the setting, so I will definitely check it out, now hastening to do so with your added endorsement.

Nothing has been said about a Louis Malle set so no. There's always a chance for almost anything to get a release just like most other films

April will be 22 months since Pink Flamingos. I would definitely pick up DL, since there’s nothing to edit about it. John Waters is one of my favorite directors, but I equally anticipate and dread his releases.
