House Party and Eyes Wide Shut will make a great double feature. Both include parties at a house...just very different kind of parties.

To be fair to "Hell's Angels," it's been awhile since I've seen it and whatever version I watched was not great quality, which made it difficult to watch. I'm looking forward to rewatching the 4K restoration. It'll be like seeing it again for the first time!

Agreed I mean a film from John Hughes, and Howard Hughes, House Party yes, Kubrick while I don't care for this film it's a Kubrick title that's huge, and a Bunel film that actually interests me. It's a really darn good month sorry Duke I disagree this month actually rocks not a disappointing month at all. Gosh people are such downers, and complainers in this thread.

It's actually been a disappointing set of announcements. The second half of the alphabet was completely ignored this month. It's despicable. (And no, the Kiarostami films don't count!)

It's important to note, though, that Él, Burden Of Dreams, House Party and Hell's Angels are all at the very least new to HD in the United States, so that's certainly not a problem in this month's slate. Over half of November's slate is at least new to HD in the United States, and I think that House Party and Hell's Angels are new to HD worldwide. Are there any Abbas Kiarostami films in the Abbas Kiarostami set that aren't at least new to HD in the United States? I'm asking because I really don't know. If you know, please tell me.

Last, but not least, I think that more new-to-HD japanese films in particular will come out soon...

I personally don't agree would I have liked to have finally gotten Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore, The French Connection, Captain Blood, Hud, and some new to Blu-Ray Kurosawa titles sure of course I would've liked that, but I think we have a really good selection here. Sure is it one of Criterions best months nope that honor goes to October, May, and August. Is it a bad month no far from it.

Lol I'm just playing since all of today's titles begin with B, E, and H.

Thanks I just think people really just go super over the top calling this month disappointing its ridiculous. I kind of just laugh at people's comments saying it's disappointing, or saying oh no some weird obscure title didn't get announced that means this is the worst month ever I just cannot take any of it seriously.

So far I've got June winning the best month sweepstakes, but I can certainly see why many would back the November slate. Sadly, I thought Eyes Wide Shut would be a December release, thus I didn't get a single prediction right. All that proves is even when given leaks on titles acquired it's still challenging figuring out when things get released.

Don't forget that Flicker Alley will likely be releasing the 1929 Laurel and Hardy silents by the end of the year. That means more Baby thanks to three small, but very nice appearances in Liberty, Bacon Grabbers, and Double Whoopee.

I like House Party but I had to verify the correct year to be sure there wasn't a different movie with the same name lol. Then I saw the sweet cover and specs.

I wasn’t aware, thank you! I have had Double Whoopee on my DVR forever. I’m going to watch it tonight to whet my appetite.

The last seven months have been pretty chaotic. My father slipped on black ice while out walking our dog in January, and suffered a traumatic brain injury. After rallying, he passed away in mid May after COVID, and a UTI from an incorrect catheter insertion exploded into kidney damage and bilateral pneumonia. My entire focus over that time has been taking care of my family, so movies and collecting movies has taken a back seat.

But while I miss him tremendously-he was my example of what a man should be, and my North Star, really-life has begun again. When I was at my lowest point, and just trying to help my Mom through his passing after nearly sixty years together, God sent me a beautiful Colombian angel; she is incredibly supportive, and has taken to my love of film, so I am thinking about things like the Criiterion Collection again.

The incredible healing power of art, and community, is precisely what I have been needing, so I am happy to be back here again with all of you.
