They have a separate library/libraries for office copies of the laserdiscs, DVDs/BLu-rays/UHDs (Criterion releases and releases from other labels around the world), reference books, etc..

here is a picture of the DVD/Blu-ray library

There's no pretense with JLC. She's always thrilled to be asked to show up anywhere and doesn't take opportunities for granted. She's her own kind of cool.

Repeating myself from the deals thread, but I just got these in & wanted to make sure you guys know about them. There are some great coupon deals at Amazon this week, including insane discounts on these two. The Dietrich set is $44.05 with the coupon, and the Wages 4K is $22.60.

Here are two pieces that will help in your search. I haven't seen all of his Mexican films, but I have been dabbling in Mexican cinema lately. I might have to do a watch of all of them--perhaps, chronologically.

There was a retrospective last year. https://www.moma.org/calendar/film/5666#events

Here's another useful piece. https://harvardfilmarchive.org/programs/bunuels-mexico

these coupon sales are regional, so if you do post them here you should at least post the region you got the sale in (or, even better, post it in the irresistible Amazon Criterion deals thread instead, seems that's where it should belong https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=288999)

It's still one of my favorites from Kubrick. And there's tons of great supplements with this one too. A win-win!

As for the other releases, House Party is a welcome addition with Kid'n'Play at the top of their game.
Buñuel's film Él is another great addition, featuring cuckoldry and a jealous husband.
[Show spoiler] Hell's Angels, a pre-code Hollywood film from Howard Hughes, stars Jean Harlow in her breakout role. Plus 4K upgrades for The Breakfast Club and Burden of Dreams, as well as a new Eclipse set on blu-ray? Stop the madness!
Not to mention...
[Show spoiler]attempted infibulation
!

Often associated with the later "Vertigo", "Él" also plays in that same realm of male obsession and psychosis, paranoia and cuckoldry, and also religious ritual as fetishism as "Eyes Wide Shut". A double-bill in November is a must here at Chez Lurker, where kinky religiosity and studies in abnormal psychology are almost invariably the touchstones of great cinema.

As I posted in a couple other threads, Universal just released Wild at Heart on digital last night.

Keeping my fingers crossed for a Criterion release at some point in the near future now that Shout seems to have lost the home video rights.

I think the Eyes Wide Shut and History of Violence covers look cool next to each other. I'm looking forward to having these. (I'm also excited about the Buñuel film.)

I think Peter Becker has talked about how they have an entirely separate laserdisc closet and they always know the longtime fans when it's the first thing they ask to see.

Not nearly on the same level of greatness, but I wonder if Criterion was trying to push the "Vertigo" connection with the "Él" cover? The bell tower's got a lot of significance but I can't help but wonder if there were any alternate covers featuring foot-washing or needle-and-thread imagery.

Random question*: what order are the disks set out in the closet?

I’ve been paying attention to that. Pretty clear that it’s spine order. Don’t know where they put the oversized box sets though.

It would be nice if Criterion could add alternate covers on their site; those that were not approved. It would have been cool to see other artwork that a release could have had.
