And to keep this on topic, I watched the Leopard blu for the first time last night (I had seen the DVD version) and was blown away. The PQ is AMAZING. Bravo, Criterion. |

1.) My wife pushed NetFlix to help slow down the stream (no pun intended) of impulse/blind buys of Criterion titles. 2.) My intent was/has never been to use NetFlix streaming to replace the purchasing of CC BDs...but as a way to see if I enjoyed a film enough to actually buy it. This has been for DVDs as well as BDs and even includes Kino, MoC, BFI, and possibly other UK companies BD titles as well. As I (and others) have intimated, I don't just "buy" a film because "it looks good". I have to either be entertained, educated, and/or "moved" by a film to even consider spending the money on it. |

![]() Come back to me when Criterion releases a Warhol Eclipse. Edit: I wonder why Criterion posted this on Facebook? It's been a top 10 for a while. CHELSEA GIRLS! CHELSEA GIRLS! Last edited by SpiderBaby; 02-16-2011 at 07:23 PM. |

Don't know if this has been posted,
Janus Films has a new print of François Truffaut's The Soft Skin and will open at Film Forum in New York City on March 11. Next, Criterion blu-ray and dvd most likely after. |

Pooping in a diaper has nothing on those films. Check out Women in Revolt too if you haven't had the chance. Oh and for you Netflix peeps, ALL of the Morrissey films are on Instant. For a list: Flesh (must watch) Trash (must watch) Heat Women in Revolt (great) Flesh for Frankenstein Blood for Dracula The ones that came after these don't really need to be seen. These are still under the Warhol fam. Last edited by SpiderBaby; 02-16-2011 at 07:50 PM. |

Oh and for a Warhol good time tonight, check out the BEST ADAPTATION of A Clockwork Orange on youtube right now, it's called VINYL!
This is one of the films I hope gets a release (it's my avatar), and would love an Eclipse set. Link to first part: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IuENhAm5Tks Before you say this is boring or artsy, just remember what the f*** a Clockwork Orange is about, and don't think of colorful Kubrick films. |

Finding "Tokyo Olympiad" and "Carlos Saura's Flamenco Trilogy" at decent prices was the hardest for me. Thank God I already had many of the other out of print titles. |

The film also make better use of the future slang by allowing us to see what they are talking about in place of "red kroovy" nine times a page. The result being that the reader is distanced from the horrors of the violence, since you pretty much have to use a glossary to find out what is actually happening. In the end the book is an intellectual's idea of rape and violence and music and sex and the film a much more visceral experience of it. In many ways, Burgess' story is just much better suited to the medium of film than it ever was as straight literature. |
