Is the English version restored on any any of the issues?

Any insight would be appreciated!

Thanks for letting us know about this. I ordered the same three and used a 10% off entire order coupon. The code is H3U4M7L and it expires July 6. It works out about 50 cents per movie cheaper than the coupon for 15% off a single item.

Also got a ship notice a few hours later, but it was only for Black Moon.

Nah, once the sale starts, the Criterions become the best sellers, they start running out of stock, things slow down. Right now, no problem. (Plan ahead. )

Awesome deal. Much better than mine, but I am still happy with my final price.

I calculated my costs for the "Buy 2 Get 1 Free" + 10% off, with shipping costs to Germany I would have to pay about $80.
That's why I went to planetaxel and used some of my axelpoints to buy Fish Tank

Considering the lenght of my shopping list I'm hoping to do a good deal of my puchasing in store anyway. The 10% memeber discount alone will likely add up fast. If I'm lucky there will be a stackable coupon or two available during the sale.

And it gets me out on the bike. Always a nice bonus.

Semi-random B&N sales question - they don't do a midsummer Starbucks promotion by any chance, do they?

I loved their winter B2G1 sale on beans last year.

And considering all the movies and cigars I've been ordering lately, stocking up on coffee too wouldn't be a bad idea at all.

That sounds comfortable. Do you have any Bourbon?

Hey Spidey! I know that you just bought People on Sunday. I also know that you are a big fan of the silents...ya gotta find a cheap region free player! I just finished watching MoC's Coeur Fidele. Jean Epstein was a big influence on Murnau and I believe von Sternberg as well. A great release (see my latest post on the Eurkea/MoC thread).

I hope to catch People on Sunday today or tomorrow and The Great White Silence over the rest of the weekend.

Can't wait for the Keaton box set!

Yeah, I was hoping that was going to be region-free, but it wasn't. I want to buy a region-free player this summer.

CCFixx and I have the Momitsu 799...unfortunately, it doesn't seem like you can buy it anywhere/anymore.

Greekak229 and PowellPressburger both own the LG BD550 and seem to like it's price and reliability.

Good luck...let us know what you decide to do.

quick, stupid question though,

when I buy a region free player, that means my T.V. will present the picture to every release? Like I don't need to have some weird region code thing for my T.V. to show the picture, right? Right now I am more interested in the Second Run dvds (the Czech New Wave films have better transfers than the Facets releases I have seen) and a couple from MoC (one of my favs Funeral Parade of Roses).

Not a stupid question if ya don't know!

Greekak229 and PowellPressburger will correct me if I'm wrong...but if the LG 550 has the same features as the Momitsu 799...it will:

1. Allow blu-ray discs from regions A, B, and C to be played by inputting a code on the remote before the disc is inserted.

2. DVDs from any of the regions (1 to 9) should play automatically without having to input any code.

3. The conversation of European PAL to North American NTSC is taken care of by the player, so there is no need for a PAL compatible TV and/or a converter of any sort to do the PAL to NTSC conversion.

Hope this helps!
