It is worth it to have it complete for resale value, other than that, it depends on personal taste.

Personally, I have really enjoyed reading all the Criterion Booklets.

I really want to get a couple of titles during the sale but can't decide and wanted to see of these films what you guys recommend. They're all blind buys:
Playtime
Pierrot Le Fou
or
Kagemusha
just want one of these

It's hard to recommend one of these over the other two, but I'd say Pierrot is the most 'accessible' and least 'abstract' of them, if that's what you're looking for.

i would have to disagree, not disrespectfully, just have to...Pierrot is definitely my recommendation of the three, but i would say it's the least accessible because of it's incredible density, it's packed full...of course the others are as well, but if you have no interest in the french new wave of intellectual french cinema, then i would think twice. you should of course eventually get all of them, but i think kagemusha is the most accessible and liked by all that see it.
but, you should give in and buy all of them...

I immediately thought "Kagemusha" as it has a much wider appeal.

I enjoy them all though, and if I had to pick a favorite amongst them, it'd probably be "Playtime"

I like the three different opinions. I was leaning toward Playtime or Pierrot. Still a little time to decide though.

Once you buy one, you will be hooked and will eventually buy most if not buy them all....

My fav (the ones I think are the best films) are:

Wages of Fear
Playtime
Pierrot le fou
Last Year at Marienbad

Weird all are French films.

Does anyone have any details about a Criterion sale at B&N's? I need a couple of criterions and have heard whispers in the wind about a B&N sale. Please respond ASAP!

The regular B&N policy for holding an item for you is 3 business days. So if you were to reserve something you want to buy during the sale, you can do so now, and they will hold it for you until Tuesday when the sale begins.

You can check the stock of your local stores online and reserve whatever items you want to purchase for the sale starting today!

I'm considering a blind buy of Wings of Desire during the B&N sale. Anyone think that's a bad idea?

I've read the reviews of "Wings of Desire" (film) and for the most part, they have been positive.

Does the post "THE RED SHOES returns! Watch a splendid sample of this retina-blazing masterwork" on CC's facebook hint at a possible blu release?
