I don't understand why you all hate slipcovers?

I love slipcovers! I love selling them for $5-$10 to those who collect them

So do you actually love slipcovers themselves, or do you love the money you get from selling them to people who don't know that a large amount of money is more valuable than cardboard?

If you actually like the slipcovers, you probably need help because you keep getting rid of them.

I think they're giving that one their first 7.1 track. It was rumored some months ago on Wikipedia.

Contrary to Criterion's statement that they stick with the original audio when possible (which is almost always), the remastered 7.1 track is actually better because they re-encoded it so all the sound comes out of the center channel only. So, in essence, even though it is 7.1, it still sounds like the original.

Overall I really don't understand the obession some have with these slipcovers Ok I do have my own pretty weird things that I am sure some people must wonder what is the point (like my collection of Star Wars things) but I mean if you have ever peak into that slipcover thread, it's weird, very weird in there.

Sad, but seriously, I would buy that Eclipse set day one. As the late great Jerry Reed would probably say in a bad southern accent (insert disclaimer), 'Dems reel akshun moovys'

I heard that this one was going to have the 7.1 surround sound first. This is the finest film Criterion will ever add to their collection, with its pristine picture and commentary with Shia LeBoeuf and Michael Bay. Bonus feature includes the original animated film. A Day one purchase for me.

You know, I find it ridiculous how obsessed some people on here are about them, but as long as they're happy.

That doesn't preclude that there are some I'd like to have, because A.) I might like the slip art better or B.) I just think the slip looks cool. The only case were I really want the slip because it bugs me not to have it is Benjamin Button and that's because it sticks out from the other Criterions by being the only one in a normal Blu case.
