Cheers.
Always when they ship. But good luck if you want to cancel.

It's fantastic, and is surprising in its ability to hold up after 81 years. Truly a masterful film that should be picked up. I guarantee Criterion would love to have it.

For one thing it can be had cheaper from the U.K.

Thanks Capt! I figured as much...hopefully the transfer is as good as the review has intimated.

The latest hint appears to be from Bergman's Summer Interlude

I would go that route...but I wanted to pick it up today from B & N...a treat after a LONGGGGG week at work.

Is the UK version supposed to be any better than the US Universal version?

So we're likely looking at:

Being John M.
Certified Copy
Summer with Monika
Summer Interlude
The Gold Rush

The July/November ones are almost guaranteed at this point, as are the B2G1 sales in January and June.

But the 40% sales are popping up randomly.
Rumors on the internets indicate the November one may not happen this year, so you might want to focus more on that July sale this time around. Just saying.

Looks the same to me, but just judging a digibook by its cover at this point.

Would be interesting if they decided to put out a Bergman blu-ray box set since it seems 2 are potentials this month. It would be an interesting addition since the AE one is coming out in the UK in the future too.

Shaping up to be the strongest month since November, in my opinion.

There seems to have been a bit of an upgrades drought this year.

I'll take all the Bergman they are willing to give me. But I also wouldn't be disappointed if its Antonioni.

I'm guessing we are going to get a Bergman boxset (similar to the David Lean box set coming).

It would be fantastic if L’avventura or L’eclisse was upgraded. Seems like it is going to be a great month. Start saving your pennies....

Bergman could very well be an Eclipse set.

More than a bit OT but it looks like the Eureka/MOC direct sale page is operating again.

http://www.eurekavideo.co.uk/offers/offers.html

For those who were interested they have the dual format Une femme mariée listed now.

Carry on.

IMO, these clues are interesting, but really take away from the former excitement this day used to bring. Seems like we already know what is going to be released below. I wish they would scale back to only 1 clue and keep it at that. I guess they have to keep the FB sheep happy.
Yeah, I'd like them to be a little more of a surprise too...unless it's a title I really want, of course!!

I can recommend it; I'm not a heavy war-film buff, but this is one of the best films of the genre. Really, anti-war.

I only spot-checked the film on Tuesday when I picked it up, both the sound and silent versions, and the sound version easily improves heavily over the DVD I had (and got rid of).

The silent version included with it is of course the biggest note for the release, which some acclaim as an even better picture than the sound one (that was awarded Best Picture, no less). It's only included in standard def, but it's a more than worthwhile extra in my book.
