Rich, I assume you have seen the movie before, correct? It is a very good presentation. The soundtrack is very different on the BD than on the DVD. Much more enveloping. I know it's not OZU, but you will not be disappointed...

That's nothing. My past few orders from amazon.com have been refunded a grand total of $0.01 of the import tax.

Big whoop, a penny.

Believe it or not, I've never seen the entire film...just bits and pieces. And it is streamable on NetFlix. I had planned to watch it before July and buy it at the B & N sale. THEN that Michigan tree hugger had to go ahead and dangle the carrot of temptation (no pun intended) in front of me with the $5 code.

I have heard and I think I own the Peter Gabriel CD of the soundtrack and know how solid that is. I'm also a Catholic with a very open mind and have a respect and liking for the films (most of them at least) of Scorsese. Factor in the commentary and the cinematography and it's a no-brainer!

My funny story about this film is that it was not screened at any theater here in Chicago, except the now famous Music Box theater. There were many protestors out in front, which I always thought was funny. I was a senior in HS when I saw it in 88' and was actually encouraged to see it by one of the clergyman at my private school. So we loaded up the vehicle and pushed the hacks out of the way to get in. One of those interesting experiences I guess you never forget. Always had that interest in this film..
