I actually found both Gloria and Eva to be odd looking. Plastic is a good word.
[Show spoiler]However, I think it's plot spoiler territory to be discussing why they might look like that.

The digibook's no longer exclusive to Best Buy; it can be picked up elsewhere. Lest you were referring to the month or so were it - as well as several other digibooks - were available for $10.99, and when doubtless many picked it up.

A lucky #13 as far as I'm concerned! A great film and if you've never seen it, I don't think you'll be disappointed...

Yes dr....it's looks really good and it's a film that I've never seen completely from beginning to end. Even after picking up the "Ultimate" set from Amazon recently for $28.99, I managed to fall asleep during the middle of it, as it was a long day and a late night.

I do want to watch it again with the commentary.

More positive feedback about World on a Wire...and I saw it in two parts over last weekend. I'm now looking forward to watching Despair very soon and Berlin Alexanderplatz, once we hit the next sale.

My friends at MoC are now making it difficult to resist near future purchases...and Imamura has become a new study (as per my post in that thread). Trying to contemplate which to buy next...

Last Temptation should arrive sometime this week from DD...just in time for Easter.

That's my philosophy entirely mate. I have seen the film and really found it to be one of the better films Criterion have released on Blu. Wings of Desire is arguably my favourite film of all time and I'm always going to pick up Wim Wenders on Blu.

Cheers for the support! ;D

Next big sale, I'm going to go nearly hog-wild. I've had to miss out on the last few(still upset about VDay), so I'm due.

I have seen them on here before, so does anyone know where to find those pie charts showing what Criterion releases by country. An updated one would be perfect.

I'm not sure how current it is, but this is the one I have seen before:

Didn't Kurosawa only make 30 films?

The end of May is gonna be all about star-crossed lovers running away and camping together.
Criterion releases both Summer with Monika and Summer Interlude on blu; and Moonrise Kingdom hits theatres.
Coincidence? I don't think so.

For anyone in the DC area: The National Gallery of Art has scheduled to screen a program of Japanese films. Kurosawa and Ozu are heavily represented. Link here.

These films are very well attended and are usually preceded by a brief lecture. I'm pretty excited that this will be my first experience seeing Ozu.
