Really? The Game? Considering its HD-DVD release from Universal I would have never thought Criterion would release it.

The Game is a Universal title.

While I'm also surprised that its coming, as CC always denied it before, they did release it on LaserDisc and of all the major studios, Universal is probbably the one that they have the best relationship with (Charade, Videodrome, FLILV, Brazil, et al.)

Cool been wondering if I should bid on the Old Laserdisc edtion they released. So this is really good news! It has needed a DVD special edition in the US for years now. So a BD release would be really great.

It would be cool if they could snag a new interview with Douglas while he's around NYC promoting Money Never Sleeps in April. I assume he explains a lot on the SS commentary, but it would be nice to get a reflective piece from him. From my standpoint, this film was a very curious choice for him, though he gave a fantastic performance.

Jacob, just thought I'd let you know that there's a new February sale for MOC titles, including February pre-orders, up over in their thread. It was sent out in their e-mail this morning. You should sign up for their mailing list, if you haven't already.

Once again, thanks.
you are EXTREMELY luck to find one in a retail store.

why would you ever keep $600 in a paypal balance?! it only cost 50cents to transfer it into your bank accnt, and if you have over $150 it costs you NOTHING.

Fortunately I only use it on small ebay purchases from time to time.
Never keep a balance in there.
As soon as I sell something, I transfer my paypal balance to my checking account.
+1. same here. 2 years and no problems.

Criterion also released Dazed & Confused on HD DVD not long after Criterion released it on DVD. I guess it's still possible Criterion could put out a Blu of Dazed & Confused.

I did not "keep" a $600 balance. I completed a $600 sale and they immediately froze my account before I could transfer the balance to my bank account. I had to fax them more and more info on the transaction for over TWO YEARS. Every single time they either "lost" the info I sent them or demanded more. Finally I just gave up and resigned myself to the fact they got away with stealing my money. After almost another year I logged in my account and the funds were mysteriously unfrozen so I got my money.

My neighbor had a similar problem but in his case Ebay froze (stole) over $1,000 from him. He's been fighting over a year to get his money back and had to give up his Ebay business becauseof this.

I don't have Ben Button either. I'm not one of those desperate completionists who will buy anything they release, just by virtue of the fact that they released it. I buy the titles that interest me, ignore the ones that don't.

It would look pretty stupid if I had that big dopey slipcover popping out. Nothing OCD about that in my opinion...

Hahaha yeah I was actually conflicted on what to do about that, but in the end appearances won out over alphabetical correctness.

I keep my Crierion DVDs / BDs sep/ and usually the criterion box sets like the renoir sets etc with multiple films I have by themselves, but The box sets I kind of organize how I want.. i know odd.... but the DVDs and the BDs i organize alphabetically.

I got a confirmation e-mail yesterday that my cases shipped so I could have them soon possibly. so I can't wait to swap those out.

I own the R2 Special Edition DVD, and it has a really great set of extras. Were those ported from the Laserdisc, by any chance? If so, then I don't really understand why Criterion would release this. I mean, if Universal can release them on DVD, why not on Blu-ray?
Anyway, I'm glad they're releasing it. I loved the movie, and it deserves a good Blu-ray. They're probably not happy about it on the Criterion forums, but hey.
