Default Hooray!

The Thin Red Line is a title I've been waiting for in a high quality BD package.

I don't remember seeing this mentioned, but at the Criterion Store right now you can use the code AFS for 25% off your entire order, including pre-orders. That makes the cost of each Blu-ray roughly $23. If you're experiencing the same Amazon woes that I've been experiencing, you might want to jump on this.

would have been great to know this about an hour ago when I made my order, I could have saved $30

That is some great news! Just pre-ordered Days of Heaven, Yojmbo/Sanjuro box set and an extra copy of Pierrot Le Fou for $86 shipped to the house. If I can flip Pierrot on ebay for $40 or so, makes the other 2 a steal. Wish we knew about that earlier. Just order over $50 and shipping is free, which saves you another $6.

From what I've read, I thought the AFS code for 25% was a mistake and is now only taking 6% off each item. Yes or no?

I was able to place two orders that did take off 25%, but I keep waiting for Criterion to tell me my order isn't valid or someting. So far, so good, though.

I have been wanting to upgrade my Ozu collection for some time now. Any recommendations, and should I get the Late Ozu Eclipse set?

I don't think it means June, but I'd say it means within six months.

There was a post on Criterion forum a month or so ago that indicated The Thin Red Line was being restored, with the project being overseen by Malick, and they hoped to have it out by the end of this year.

So by October at max? Maybe that's the Tree of Life release date or maybe Badlands will be used to promote Tree of Life.

I'm uncertain, but I recall the clues for CHE popping up last June/July and the movie not being released for another six+ months. I'm really looking forward to Red Line as well!

Damnit.

I guess this also means Wes anderson blus should be hinted as well since they told me to be patient about Thin Red Line and Wes Anderson.

I read on another forum that people were briefly experiencing the problem you describe. However, now it seems to be working at 25% off. I received an email order confirmation that included the 25% off on it, for whatever that's worth.

It seems unlikely that it would be a mistake since it was working, then giving the wrong percentage, and now working again. Why would they make it work again if it were a mistake?

I guess we'll know whenever someone gets a shipping confirmation email!

The 25% worked for me! Just ordered Grand Illusion, Le Corbeau, Forbidden Games, Diary of a Country Priest and The Fallen Idol!

Hell yes, you should get the Late Ozu Eclipse set.

Also, don't forget that BFI will be releasing 2-disc blu-ray sets for "Tokyo Story," "Late Spring," and "Early Summer" on April 19th in the UK. Each set has a blu-ray of the title film and a DVD of another film from my understanding. Not sure what the region coding is, yet, though... although, more than likely Region B.

Thanks alot. For some reason Ozu has aways been on the back burner with me buying stuff. Too much dvds to choose from.

I pre-ordered Dillinger is Dead from Criterion, so I guess I will buy the Late Ozu set now while I pre-order Bigger Than Life Blu-ray. Thanks again.

Quick everybody: When considering the 25% + a $10 GC I have, which is the better blind buy: Berlin Alexanderplatz at $64.97 or Rosselini's War Trilogy for $47.92?

Seen and loved Ali: Fear Eats the Soul, by the way, but no RR films.

I would go for Rosselini's War Trilogy. That's just me but I am waiting for that when/if a B&N sale comes around.

One would think that at least one of those will get a Criterion Blu within the next year. Probably Tokyo Story.
