I wonder if they know something we don't or if this is wishful thinking? The best possible outcome is both A Hard Day's Night and Let it Be being released.

They don't. They are just reporting on the New Years drawing and guesses from different people.

So, if anyone wants my new copy of either title, let me know. I am willing to let them go for what I paid for them originally (MSRP - B&N member discount) provided that the person who buys them is buying them to watch and not to just resell at a higher price.
I'm content to owing just Army of Shadows; I heard that the StudioCanal BD had better extras than the ones on the Criterion BD, which is why I deliberately held off on buying that.

I mean, yeah, Lionsgate is very choosy as to which SC film gets release on Western shores (let alone keep all the extras), but I took that risk and I'm stickin' with it.

I'd be happy with any/all Beatle films. If this happens, I hope they load the blurays up with supplements.

I never have. Maybe we need to write more compelling suggestions.

It's a suggestion box. I don't think replies are part of the deal.

This is a bit OT but TCM has done an episode of Private Screenings with Robert Osborn as the subject rather than the interviewer (Alec Baldin interviews him) and it's really, really good.

I've really like him for a long time but even at that I winced a little when I saw the 90 minute runtime but it flies by.

I saw some of it. I wish they would have shown more of the Robert Mitchum interview. What a jerk! Why did he agree to come on if he was going to be a stodgy old fart?

The Network BD has Sidney Lumet's entire Private Screenings and it's one of my favorite supplements. I would love to see those show up more often.

I also really loved that Universal included Robert Osborn's intro on the Double Indemnity DVD. It's only a few seconds but I actually miss that on the MoC BD.

Apple Corps put out Help!, Magical Mystery Tour, and Yellow Submarine already. Let It Be has been in the works for some time and will most likely come from Apple.

Was surprised that i got a response this time. On "Oh Boy (2012)

"Thanks for your email and suggestions, I'll share them with my colleagues. Thank you for supporting Criterion!"

Right ..... I was thinking more along the lines of how nice it would be if they received the Criterion touch (i.e. possibly new supplements and good care too).

I think if we ever do get Le It Be on blu-ray it will be in some big box set with CDs of the music and that would make more sense from Apple. I do look forward to A Hard Days' Night from Criterion.

What's everyone's opinion on The Long Day Closes? Probably one of the more intriguing titles I really want to check out.

In the Realm of Senses is wild. That final shot is haunting.

That's what I thought, till I noticed Criterion released Traffic about two years after Universal's original BD. It's been almost that long since Universal released The Deer Hunter on BD.

I'm going to a screening of Blue is the Warmest Color on Friday at the local Cinematheque. Usually they show 35mm prints whenever possible. For this screening the format is blu-ray. I wonder if disc they'll show is the Criterion (even though the official release isn't until 2/25).
