No, he's not. I didn't participate in the flash sale. I had some real life family issues to deal with that had me distracted.

I was dealing with stuff on my end too, so the flash sale ended up coming at a bad time. At least I still have the annual B&N sale later this year.

My first Criterion was the Blade Runner CAV laserdisc, bought back in 1988.

My first Criterion DVD was John Woo's The Killer, found in a local store after it had gone OOP.

My first Criterion Blu-ray was either The Third Man or Chungking Express. Or possibly both bought at the same time. Can't recall.

I'd be curious to know what you came up with for cheapest (not so much the safest). When I tried recently to return a big box set it was really expensive (ended up not having to). Gotta think you're looking at same...

Maybe your friend of a friend could just fly them over when he's going out your way.

I put aside some $$ last year just for the occasion. I spent more than I expected but that's OK, it wasn't too much more than I planned on spending.

On Malle, don't sleep on his American films - Pretty Baby in particular is one of the very best films of the 1970s IMO. Could say the same for Atlantic City and the 80s, and My Dinner with Andre goes without saying.

This was my first Criterion.com flash sale, as I usually stick to B&N, but with it being harder and harder to use coupons this was a good option.

And I really wanted a replacement case for 400 Blows and a T-shirt so it was a good excuse to order a blu.

Oh... I did not even think to do this. They're on backorder now, so I'll wait until if or when they come back in stock (probably not, but that's okay).

I was thinking of ordering one a few months ago and it was on back order so I was sort of surprised they were in stock this time. I imagine they will get more in then.

That haul is pure class!

Yeah, I have high hopes for this Godzilla, considering that it's from the director that did Monsters, which is one of my favorite indies.

Touki Bouki rocks! It is my favorite out of the world cinema box. It's has so much energy and stunning visuals. Honestly, TB and the Housemaid alone are worth the price of admission
