i'm not sure i can pass on godzilla so cheap. can anyone weigh in with their thoughts?

also, as for upcoming sales, is the next barnes and noble in july? when is the next criterion.com sale? i prefer criterion.com, as i never have any issue and i like the fact that i am working towards some credit. since i am not a barnes and noble member, it seems that is the better path for me. unless i am missing something?

I got my copy of The Game from Best Buy's sale today. The only thing is it didn't come with a blue sticker on the package. Anyone know the deal with that?

Way to go! Terrific film, and by far the most authentic ever made about the sinking of Titanic. No made-up characters or melodrama. The only major fact that they overlook was that the ship broke in two when it sank. Some survivors thought they saw it happen, but it wasn't accepted as fact until the wreckage was found so it didn't go in the film.

Great movie -- and a beautiful print.

Well I'm really not impressed by Criterion's 'dual format' packaging of PERSONA... A giant digipak that takes up almost twice as much space on the shelf as a normal blu-ray case and gets crushed in the post, and for what? +2 DVDs that I neither want nor need... Really hope this is a one off.

I just finished watching Eating Raoul. What a crazy movie, but I really loved it. Anytime someone whines about Criterion being a label that only puts out pretentious or arthouse films, I'll point them directly to this movie.

Just (blind) recorded this off of TCM yesterday... something to look forward to.

Anyway, beside the list of Australian films on the TCM website, most of which I've seen, apparently there may be a few others thrown into the mix as well.

I saw it in an art house theater when it was initially released... (found it kind of mediocre at the time). It kind of is what art house films were like back in the day, though maybe not as hoighty toighty as some of them (if I get your drift).

My copy came from USA to UK in a simple envelope and had no damage at all and is superb quality - and why winge about size..... Really does get boring.

You are getting more for your money, if you don't like it scan artwork in and printout and put in a plastic case.....

You are getting more for your money, if you don't like it scan artwork in and printout and put in a plastic case.....

People dislike the size because a shelf that used to hold 20 movies can now hold 12. What would hold 100, would now hold 60, and so on.

People complain about lack of durability because they don't like receiving broken stuff in the mail.

And sure, complaints might get boring, but actually explaining them on request makes for some riveting internet. So we are all winners at this point.

The dual format digipaks are very strong and durable, and much better than older ones and the plastic cases break more in post for me that digipaks. Besides if they do come damaged, you can easily get a refund or replacement.

And tbh the shelf issue, if you are only buying 1-5 or so then it won't make much difference, and it's not hard get get a bigger shelf or bookcase.

Plus as I said, we are ally ill fans, so why would you want to turn down a release that includes new and more artwork? :/

Godzilla is one of the best titles in the Criterion Collection, and it earns five stars across the board in terms of the presentation and the supplements. It's a good idea to buy it now before the big remake comes out in a couple of weeks. I'll be revisiting mine before is go to see the new movie.

Barnes & Noble usually has their 50% off sale in July and November.

Lacks additional content as well. Also a lot expect nice artwork with criterion, yes he films the main part but the unique artwork that sets the release apart from others is another reason some may collect Criterion.

Also of I feel it's disappointing for this reason then how is that ridiculous?

I was just saying mine came from despite going through customs, and I'm a bit bored of people winging about the size.
