I know "Iguana" is coming to blu-ray from Raro. I could have sworn that "Cockfighter" was being released by another company, but can't locate the news. Anyone remember this?

Mayonnaise turns my stomach, but I could definitely go for Ride the Whirlwind and The Shooting.

The Shooting, not Don Siegel's Shootist. Darn, was hoping for the latter, but thought that sounded a little strange.

And if they're going for a box set, "China 9, Liberty 37" is conveniently in the public domain.

(Just as long as it's not for "Silent Night, Deadly Night III: Better Watch Out".)

I was hoping for something we didn't know was coming, but I'm happy regardless.

Criterion posted a still from it about the time they announced/released Two Lane Blacktop. I think people got hopeful, but no "news" as far as I know. Also some people thought the clue for The Goldrush (Chaplin as chicken) referred to Cockfighter.

They never show a newsletter clue for something we don't know is rumored anymore. But at the same time, it's not there fault that the rumors and other outlets leak things. Also the newsletter clue is to get the general consumer excited, so don't expect any obscure film clues.

I'm hoping Criterion has more Satyajit Ray blu-ray releases planned. They do own rights for 18 of his films.

There should be a drinking game for Blue is the Warmest Color. Every time you and your friends see Adele chewing food with her mouth open, you all have to drink one shot.

Or when watching Alien, anytime Parker (Yaphet Koto) is seen eating something. You'd be under the table before the film was over.

Happy Late Birthday, Edward J Grug III!

Unrelated, but I watched Andrzej Zulawski's 1981 film, Possession, this afternoon, and, although I am a little weirded out, I have to say that I love this offbeat divorce allegory.
Here is are some of my random thoughts.
