Can someone locate the official threads for Judex and Hearts and Minds? The search engine isn't pulling them up.

I don't believe they were made, especially Hearts and Minds.

Very strange. Thank you, Scottie.

Actually, I was fairly certain you had a thread for Judex, but I could not find one.

No problem, I created new threads.

It was going to be. Then they added the two Franju shorts.
I guess they just forgot to update the page.

I wonder if the licensers are stricter with US companies than they are with companies in other countries. Almost none of the US labels will sell to any customers outside the US/Canada.

Do these new cases seem any easier on DVD 1 than the digipaks? I mentioned a while ago that all my digipak DVD 1s are scratched because of the way they're packaged.

Only the outer digipack sleeve (inner casing and booklet are all fine) was severely damaged and it has been driving me crazy for months. I'd gladly pay for a replacement, just don't want to have to rebuy the whole release if possible. I display my Criterions in my living room along with artwork because of their consistently interesting design. Hope I hear good things!

Look forward to Monday's announcement. I'm really really really hoping for the recent remaster of Hiroshima mon amour since I missed its play at MOMA by a day!!
Id rather pay Criterion the $5 for replacement stuff in future if they come damaged - least Criterion pack well and are quick to deliver and again $5 is change for me so doesn't bother me :P

Just happy that option is there - I ave been dealing with Clair via email - just sent them the money via paypal and drop Clair an email (also leave paypal note on what u need).

Hope you get as good a service as I have - I have been tempted to send some money to them for the artwork sleeves to frame for wall XD

Well, I got it to work. It was as simple as my forgetting to use the mobile site for the second code. I had used it for the first one, but guess I forgot when I went to use the second.
Thanks much!

I actually just finished watching Judex via Amazon Instant Video and I thought the film was decent and fun.

Overall, I'm glad I watched it instead of blind buying it, as I don't feel I'll watch it again.

Borrowed a few from library included 2 blu-ray that are now OOP...

Le Cercle Rouge
Play time
Days of Heaven

Liked them all...Play time was a bit wierd with no real storyline but it was still a nice experience...quite innovative the way it was filmed.

Default Criterion Titles on TCM

I have been combing thru the TCM schedule for this month to find all of the Criterion titles that will be showing soon:

All Times EST

June 16
Purple Noon @ 2 A.M.
Henry V @ 10:30 A.M.

June 18
Brute Force @ 6:45 A.M.
A Nous La Liberte @ 9:45 P.M.
Le Million @ 11:15 P.M.

June 22
Godzilla, King of the Monsters @ 8:00 P.M.

June 23
Blue, White, and Red @ 2:00 A.M.
Haxan @ 7:15 A.M.

June 26
M @ 6:15 A.M.

June 27
Seconds @ 2:15 A.M.

June 28
To Be or Not To Be @ 8:00 P.M.

June 29
The Third Man @ 2:00 P.M.
The Fallen Idol @ 10:00 P.M.

June 30
Jeanne Dielman, 23 Quai Du Commerce... @ 2:00 A.M.

I have seen all of the films listed above except for Seconds and Jeanne Dielman. I know that some of you also set the TIVO/DVR days ahead of time for these showings, but I figure this list may still help a few people. From what I recall, Scottie already gave members a heads up on the 3 Colors Trilogy, but I thought I should list it again anyways.

I guess I may have missed one or two for the remainder of this month, but I'm quite sure all of the Criterion titles are on here.

I watched Out of the Past last night and wow - what a phenomenal film. The scenes with Robert Mitchum and Kirk Douglas are electrifying, and in my opinion, very comparable to say the Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino diner scene in Heat. Additionally, after seeing this film, its influence upon other films becomes very apparent. Sin City kept coming to mind when watching the scenes with Mitchum driving and narrating simultaneously. The Godfather II also came to mind after seeing the mansion on Lake Tahoe. I can't believe this film has evaded me for so long, as it's right up my alley; part of the reason, I think, is the very generic title.

Also it's absolutely criminal that this film does not have a BD release yet.

Warner claims that their master isn't quite up to Blu-ray standards.
