I'd be interested in this. I never bothered upgrading my old DVD of Pan's Labyrinth.

I was really into the movie for a year or two, and then I just sort of got over it. The same happened with The Devil's Backbone, which I still have not upgraded.

The giant toad scene in Pan's Labyrinth freaks me out. When I was a kid, we saw a massive frog behind our house, and I had nightmares after that about an enormous frog coming through the wall of my house to eat me and my brother. Watching Pan's Labyrinth, especially on the big screen, brought all of that back.

I don't know... they look slick. Considering the number of people here who have said that they either keep them or apply them, I don't think that it's too "crazy."
Not crazy at all, its what I like seeing about criterion cases in stores is that big blue sticker as well as the trademark Criterion C. Its what draws my attention first. Then the C and finally the art.

I take them into the bathroom with me and when I cannot decide between two films which is my favorite, I bang them together and make crashing sounds like a boy would do with two action figures.

Kudos on providing truly ingenius comedic imagery in describing what I find to be perhaps the most irritating of all home media-related ailments (Type C Fever!)

Pan's Labyrinth from Criterion would be cool. It would more than likely wipe out the DNR that New Line gave it. So I would double dip.

I just wish Criterion would re-think the Silence of the Lambs for blu. It was told on the forums that it was offered to Criterion a few years ago and they passed on it. I can't even consider watching the current MGM/FOX blu. Criterion could give us a true HD presentation. The current blu doesn't resemble the movie IMO. Just check out that HD trailer for comparison. Nite and Day. and please the movie doesn't have to have a "Saw" inspired cover art.

not really that kind of addiction. i just like "art" and "classic" movies at the moment alot. and there are many labels that release these movies. but i did decide for myself to go with the labels that provide overall the best release (that inlcudes bonus features , commentary tracks , booklets and a nice packaging)

so at the moment most of the time i buy only Criterion and MoC releases.
there are some random popcorn movies or old horror flicks but i did reduce buying these alot. it just makes me feel odd to spend 10-15$ on a more or less barbone release if i could get another criterion for only a few $ more.

the Nice thing with criterions is that they keep there value. so you can always resell a blind buy you didnt like without losing alot of money.

thats what bothers me with a lot of UK labels.. i preorder a movie for 12-14 GBP to support the label and a few months later there is gonna be a sale. price drops down to 6-8 GBP.

and they look awesome on the shelf

Someone obviously either misspoke or mis-typed, but the quite from the linked site actually says: “You know we definitely have had that conversation with Criterion. They found a really good response to Devil’s Advocate and Cronos."

Kinda funny. I don't think I've ever heard anyone say, "we need some Keanu Reeves in the Criterion Collection"

I love the Last Days of Disco even if the transfer isn't the best I still watch it at least once / twice a year. Great lines in that one.

I liked it, but it didn't wow me or stay with me - it was a film that I could it back and enjoy and not need to think, I loved the atmosphere of the film and characters

But yeah, just didn't stay with me or feel special hence it would be in bottom 5, I will watch again no doubt but just when I want to chill out lol

Did like the soundtrack though

Ha, that's right. I totally forgot about that.

Ok, so I should change it to, "no one ever says 'hey we need some more Keanu Reeves in the Criterion Collection'"

No, you had a post pulled for an insensitive, condescending remark. No, actually 1 top to bottom ignorant post and 2 insensitive remarks made in 2 other posts.

..and I think you had 2 of those posts pulled - not just one.
