He's not too bad in Ali: Fear Eats the Soul, but then his character is kind of a racist *******, and anyone can play a racist *******. Making them likeable though, that's a skill that only the late Carroll O'Connor seemed to pull off quite well.

I'll check it out. Hulu has 16 of his movies, so I have some selection.

I surely hope not. I think steelbooks has lost their charm now that they are so widely used. And they scratch to easy.

Hi,
Apologies for asking again if I did already but I've been without internet for a while
If I ordered Three Colors Trilogy Criterion now, would I recieve a fixed version of White?
Does it say "Fixed version" on the packaging or something to that affect?
Exactly how distracting is the framing issue on Blue?

Thank you

You should Grim.

The fixed version has "Second Printing" on the disc.

Probably (but I suppose it could vary depending on where you are ordering it from), you might have to look on the disc itself, and not distracting at all.

But that's just me.

Anyone else remember if they noted anything on the outer packaging after the correction?

I got the Three Colors set for Christmas last year (I believe from a brick and mortar B&N), and my copy was a second printing. I highly doubt you would get a first printing having purchased it this recently. The second printing was noted on the disc of White, but I don't remember seeing anything on the packaging.

I didn't even realize there was a framing issue with Blue until I read it here.

Oddly enough, my version of the trilogy has "second printing" on the White disc, but on the outside packaging, at the very end of the copyright info on the back it says "first printing 2011."

And yeah, I didn't have any issue whatsoever with Blue. But the film is so utterly engaging, I doubt I would have noticed something like that in the first place.

He shares something with Shakespeare, then (dying on his birthday).

Honestly, I was so into the movie, as it had been a while since I had last seen it, that I didn't even notice it.

I was actually watching it for the first time and it took me out of the movie.

I couldn't care less though, great movie.

Statistically, you're 14% more likely to die on your birthday than any other day of the year. Think about that when you're blowing out those birthday candles!

But Setsuko Hara, who retired after his death, is still alive. She's 94.

Luminous is right. Wow. I've been in love with her for as long as I can remember.

So Criterion's March 2015 slate will be announced this coming Monday ... I've never paid close attention in past years, so I don't know ... will this also be the date in which the graphic containing clues about upcoming titles will be released, or does that come out closer to the New Year?
