I love Guillermo del Toro, but I can't do horror movies. I'm so torn because I really want to see this, but I can't watch horror movies... they still give me nightmares. lol. Looking forward to see the opinions on it though.

I have on/off relationship lol, I love some of his films, and despite how good some are, they are really flawed - his 'big budget' films are tripe lol, but in a way they are so watchable... I dunno - the work he did on the new Silent Hills promo was incredible and I hope that skill used translates onto this film lol.

I really loved Pan's Labyrinth, the Hellboy movies are great, and Pacific Rim was just super-awesome (I think I love it so much since I'm a big Godzilla fan). He makes some amazing films, and really has quite an eye, and mind, for the not-so-normal, and the stretch your mind style of film making.

Ok, way off topic post here, so feel free to delete or PM me any responses...

Just wondering if anyone here does any trading or selling of slipcovers, and if so how? I've got a ton I'm thinking of getting rid of, and not sure the best way. Thanks for the help....

And to make it Criterion related, I'm sooo keeping the Time Bandits slip cover. Which btw, I bought yesterday with a 20% email coupon I received. I guess I should've waited for the flash sale, but I never know if I'll be near my email when it starts, and I think it'll go quick!!

It figures. The year I REALLY want the Valentine's Day flash sale to happen since I have extra cash, they're not doing it...

Radical idea here, but it just might work: You could save the money and use it later in the month when they have their flash sale.

With a non-Criterion release of "The Game" out on Tues at BB, does that signal anything for the Criterion release going out-of-print?

I own Summer Interlude. I haven't seen Wild Strawberries, but I own Seventh Seal. In my opinion, it isn't really similar to Seventh Seal, besides some overreaching themes of life and death. Summer Interlude is a very beautiful, serene film that really captures the essence of a summertime romance. I would highly recommend it.

Probably Tuesday. It depends on whether the Criterion staff have Presidents Day off.

lordmorpheus, there's a slipcover thread in the Trading section of the Forum associated with this website if you want to check it out.

And I know what you mean about the Time Bandits slipcover. I was looking through the Criterion section at one of my local Vintage Stock stores on Thursday and saw it for the first time. Very cool ... I want one, too.

Just watched Two days, One night, amazing film, is it confirmed that it will be released by Criterion? or is one of those recent releases in the limbo like Like Father, Like Son and Beyond the Hills?

Not officially confirmed yet, but Criterion released an image on their Instagram last week where they had Marion C. in office for some kind of supplemental feature. Given their relationship with IFC, seems like a good bet that she was in for Two Days, One Night stuff.

I really hope they do, at least. I saw the film last week, and she was tremendous (as was the rest of the cast, particularly her husband). That scene at the soccer practice between her and her co-worker is one of my favorite moments of 2014/15; was just really beautiful.

Yeah, her performance in that movie is the only oscar nominee of any sort I really feel passionate about this year. She obviously doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of winning, but I'm glad she got the attention from the nomination. I liked that movie considerably more than any of the best picture nominees, that's for sure.

Realized last year's sale was later in the month after all, so though being a jackass wasn't warranted, you did end up having a point in the end.

Or, easily enough, you could've said: "The sale is usually later in the month."

No need to be so sensitive. If everyone only posted what was the easiest way to say everything, this would be a pretty boring thread.

Hang around and enjoy yourself. This is a pretty enjoyable place if you let it be.

I think Februrary is a month Criterion.com usually has one of their 24 hour 50% flash sales. So maybe not so much time.
