OK, so it might not be laugh-out-loud funny, but his monthly "announcement" has sort of become a tradition around here, kind of like Bob Hope. Don't sweat the small stuff; the real announcements will come soon.

Yes. It's got a few clunkers, to be certain, but the set is still worth it by leaps and bounds.

Absolutely. Easy Rider and The Last Picture show are worth the price of the set alone. It's also packed with some of the best extras criterion has ever put on a disc.

Im so blown away by the detailing in the Moonrise Kingdom artwork... It's obviously going to be a digipak case, not sure who that artwork wood translate in a simple plastic case... Unless its going to be used for the booklet?

Either its stunning and I'm glad they have moved away from Anderson's brothers work, they were nice but it got a bit... not boring but not sure the word haha.

Same goes for Fantastic Mr. Fox artwork, was rather refreshing and a lovely piece of artwork.

Just wish Criterion sold more posters D:

Hoping for more Hitchcock, as usual. IF we get another title for Sept announced, it will be 18 months since the last one was released in Feb '14 (Foreign Correspondent).

I would buy the Moonrise Kingdom cover poster in a heartbeat, that's for sure.

Owning the DVD version and having watched 6 of the 7 titles, I can say that it is worth getting. Personally, the only one without some merit is The Last Picture Show, but others love it, so whatever. For me, the big surprise was Drive, He Said, being far better than expected. Head and Easy Rider are the take aways though.

And Five Easy Pieces (although I guess that is available individually)

One more question (lol I feel like such a rookie), other than Seven Samurai, what's the quintessential Kurosawa Criterion release

Absolutely. Easy Rider and The Last Picture Show are outstanding. King of Marvin Gardens, Five Easy Pieces and Drive, He Said are all very good. And Head and A Safe Place are in there too.

And the supplements are great. In some cases I found myself glad that I had watched the films simply because they added so much context to the supplements

The package as a whole is a really fascinating look at a very particular moment in Hollywood.

Yes. All of them are worth multiple viewings except Drive, He Said and A Safe Place.

Give or take. I've seen them and hour ahead of that, and an hour later.

Usually it's right around then or later.
