Totally agree. No interest in any Criterion title this month. I really blah year, I'm not going to buy Night and The City and The Honeymoon Killers since BFI and Arrow are releasing this titles very very soon. Blind Chance I'm going to wait for a sale or ebay. Mulholland Drive is the only Criterion I've pre-ordered so far this year.
Ikaru, great film and a great change of pace for Kurosawa. But its not a film I revisit very often.

There is zero tolerance here for sexually explicit material. Anyone, literally, anyone who would post something like that would be immediately suspended by any Moderator on the forum.

Zero tolerance means Zero tolerance. The rules of the forum are exactly that.

That's an outstanding announcement of titles this month, the only one I haven't seen is Code Unknown but will be picking the rest up.

OK. I don't think any of this is fair. But obviously it is to most of you.

I'm going to sleep so I can play golf in the morning. Take care.

Best month of the year for me.

And the biggest surprise, the one I'm most excited about: DUVIVIER IN THE 1930s! This is a treat!

Minus the Eclipse I'm in for everything. Apu Trilogy has already been preordered. Criterion deserves full funds for this one chaps... sacrifice a little scratch outside of the sale to give them the due they have so very much earned.

Not a single thing I'm interested in. Oh well. Like I said, time to go bed.

Ikiru for sure. Besides that, I'm interested in the Apu trilogy, but not a definite purchase.

Definitely in for The Apu Trilogy and Don't Look Back. I have the In Cold Blood double feature with Capote and I've never watched it, so I doubt I upgrade that.

Also I must admit I've never seen Ikiru!

Good month! Apu Trilogy and Ikiru!

Just, the cover art for Apu is really bland.

So, that cote clue was for Code Unknown. Very clever. Hats off to the people who actually figured it out.

Good month, btw.

Fantastic month! Count me in for Apu, Code Unknown and Ikiru right away. The remaining titles at some point.

Always heard good things about Ikiru, so it looks like this is my chance to blind-buy it.

I heard of most of the others, but will have to rent them first. I know the Apu Trilogy is something big, Code Unknown sounds interesting to me, and In Cold Blood sounds familiar, but I don't think I want to risk a blind-buy on those.

Wes Anderson is a bit of a mixed bag to me. I love some of his films and loathe others. I am particularly fond of the quirky Rushmore, which was also the first of his films I saw, and I was wildly entertained by The Grand Budapest Hotel. My gf is a huge fan of The Royal Tenenbaums, so that one often gets a spin here, too.

On the other hand, I quite frankly found Life Aquatic rather boring, and for some reason I really hated Moonrise Kingdom.

I would say that Ikiru is one of the films everyone needs to see once in their life. The themes in it, about life and death are universal and it can really change your mindset.

This thread is for Criterion announcements and release discussion...not for discussion of the moderation. Posting of sexually explicit material will result in a suspension (ban if it continues). There is not arguing or debate about this. Thanks guys .

In Cold Blood and Ikiru are definites. Code Unknown is a strong maybe and The Apu Trilogy is a softer maybe. Add the Eclipse set as (hopefully) an eventual NF disc rental and this is a very solid month.
