Also, I want to add... its great to see the Coen bros. finally in the Criterion Collection!

Not long ago it was Michael Haneke...

and last year it was David Lynch.

I'm in for at least Gilda and The American Friend. The latter I have not seen but I have read all the Ripley novels so I know the story well. Hopper is not the first name I think of for Tom Ripley but I know it'll be good.

I'm also interested in Bitter Rice and Snowblood.

Bravo, Criterion. I am in for Lady Snowblood, so much so that I actually may not wait for the B&N sale in July. It'll be too hard to wait 6 months, or 8 1/2 if you count the months until it releases. Lovely art too.

I'll pick up Gilda as well, I am motivated to watch that purely because of my viewing of The Shawshank Redemption recently. Rita Hayworth looks gorgeous and the film apparently is pretty good, too. Not that fond of the cover choice, though.

I thought Inside Llewyn Davis a wasteful release but at least they earned it with a plethora of extras since from what I'm told the initial release was barebones. Haven't seen the movie, but, sad as it is to say, I feel motivated to now.

I'm really enthusiastic about this month. I really want to get all five of these.

Was crazy about American Friend when I saw it at the Wenders retrospective. Gilda is going to look great. And Llewyn Davis with the concert should be an excellent package. And Lady Snowblood! Very cool.

Bitter Rice I'm probably least thrilled about but mostly because I know nothing about it. I certainly want to check it out.

It's probably cause the films are on one disc with very few extras.

Exciting announcements. Does this mean the Wenders releases will be individual titles vs a boxed set? Is An American Friend touring via Janus as well?

Seeing how I sold both Wim Wenders that I bought, I won't go down that road a third time.

Inside Llewyn Davis only for me.

It is. I assume a box set will be released hand-in-hand with the last film on Blu-ray.

Mostly predictable month, but still a solid one. Definitely in for Gilda. Likely in for Lady Snowblood depending on how it sizes up to Arrow's release.

Yep, I expect them to be spaced out over the next couple years with the Road Trilogy bundled together.

I'm psyched for Bitter Rice!

Where's George Lucas when we need his digital removal tampering!

I haven't seen The American Friend, Gilda, or Bitter Rice. Can't wait to see them, look like great releases. And I'm definitely in for Inside Llewyn Davis, the special features look fantastic, and a big improvement over the studio disc. A fantastic month.

Didn't like Paris, Texas? (I'm assuming that's one of the ones you bought). I love that film. Wings Of Desire is a good snapshot of Berlin in the 80s as well.
