Nope. Aside from Blind Chance (own), Limelight (own), and Mister Johnson (Amazon Queue), I've seen all of the films released thus far until November 2015 (I've seen a couple from November already). Here are my purchases for 2015:
02/15 - An Autumn Afternoon 02/15 - Don't Look Now 03/15 - Cries and Whispers 04/15 - Odd Man Out 04/15 - The River 05/15 - Limelight 07/15 - The Black Stallion 07/15 - Hiroshima mon amour 07/15 - The Killers 08/15 - Day for Night 08/15 - Two Days, One Night 09/15 - Blind Chance 10/15 - A Special Day --- 10/15 - Mulholland Drive 11/15 - The Apu Trilogy (blind) 11/15 - Ikiru (blind) I'll more than likely watch and cancel all of the other films because I have absolutely no interest in them. Not sure if it has been discussed, but last week Criterion added a Liv Ullmann photo that appears to be for a new interview to their Instagram page.
Time for a new Bergman release, these seems to be the remaining possibilities: Hour of the Wolf (1968) The Passion of Anna (1970) Scenes from a Marriage (1974) (Upgrade) Face to Face (1976) Saraband (2003) I think a new spine is more probable. |

But what really lifts the film out of the ordinary is Rita Hayworth's electric performance as Gilda. It's one of those iconic performances that defines a career; in fact, Hayworth admitted in later years (and I'm paraphrasing here) that her love life was disappointing because "Men went to bed with Gilda, but woke up in the morning with Rita Hayworth." The truth is, she makes the movie. If Columbia had cast any of its other contract stars in the role (they also had film noir stalwarts Evelyn Keyes and Nina Foch, among others), the film would have fizzled into mediocrity, at least in my opinion. Hayworth's strip tease to the song "Put the Blame on Mame" is one of those scenes like Marilyn Monroe standing over the subway grate in The Seven Year Itch ... once you've seen it, you'll never forget it. |

Inside Llewyn Davis is even more loaded than I ever dreamed it would be. I'm so happy that "Another Day, Another Time" is included, although I had hoped the entire unedited concert (instead of just the concert film) were included. Carey Mulligan and Adam Driver both sang at the concert but were cut, along with several other performances I wanted to see. Overall, it was a brilliant concert that exposed me to some great music and I'd pay $20 for that alone. Instantly became my most anticipated BD release!

Blow Out:
http://www.caps-a-holic.com/hd_vergl...ss=1#vergleich Koyaanisqatsi: http://www.caps-a-holic.com/hd_vergl...ss=1#vergleich Thief: http://caps-a-holic.com/hd_vergleich...ss=1#vergleich I can post many more if you wish. I don't want to bad mouth Criterion. They were my film school and we wouldn't have many classic films in their best shape in home media without them, but they need to put in effort into their encodes. These Arrow transfers were from the same scan that Criterion has but better encoded. Arrow proves that you can have both have many extras and still deliver in AV presentation. |

Posting screencaptures and blowing them up to 200% or more to look for "issues" is a very silly game. I am not interested in playing it, but I can just as easily upload a number of screencaptures from Arrow releases (or other releases) with artifacts. In fact, if you started examining Arrow's releases strictly by bringing up these types of blow-ups, you would end up with a lot more "issues". Pro-B |

I actually like Criterions colours better than the Arrow edition. On top of that its not as noticeable when you put it into fullscreen either.
I'm perfectly happy with the Criterion edition of Blow Out ![]() Koyanniqatsi, The Rose, Cries and Whispers and My Own Private Idaho though? Those could've been better... |
