My vote for sexiest female voice goes to Gilda Radner

Ingrid Bergman and Kathleen Turner (aka Jessica Rabbit) are right up there too.

January could be the first month where I'd buy all titles but I already have the Arrow steelbook of the Snowblood movies and doubt I need to replace that. I also have the UK steelbook of ILD but those extras are going to be too good to miss. Gilda and Bitter Rice I haven't seen but it sounds like I need to

Oh wow. That contradicts previous reports of their usual 50% off sale. Thanks for the heads-up!

Too bad The Jerky Boys did not receive a Criterion release in time for the November sale. I would've phoned-in my order.

I think Spines 2-25, 67-98, 201-224, 386-439, and 658 onward. There's usually a list you can Google.

Your information is wrong. Only prime-numbered spines will be 50% off.

It's 50% off, plus 10% off for members. If there's a 40% off coupon for Black Friday, Criterions are free!

This is good advice. The two stories are somewhat similar thematically, but for me, ITMFL is in a different stratosphere. I don't think that I hate LIT, but I can not recall one memorable scene or line of dialogue from the entire film. I've seen it 3+ times, so having the inclination to return to it might mean that there's something there for me that I have yet to penetrate. For now though, I see it as a cold movie w/ uninteresting dialogue and Bill Murray mugging for unfunny "fish out of water" scenes.

Said it before, but the best thing going for it, IMO, is Just Like Honey over the last scene and closing credits. Thank the Reid brothers for that, not Coppola.

They got mad at me last year when I walked in, grabbed 5, threw a stack of coupons in the air and left. I don't get it, apparently they don't read the forums.

I think pretty much every scene in Lost In Translation is memorable, which explains things like this...

Just watched Roddy McDowell's only directional debut The Ballad of Tam Lin (The Devil's Widow). Went in expecting a bad 60's B movie and came out impressed. Though was not really a fan of the folk music, the film was well shot and very inventive with wonderful performances. Though one 'inventive' technique was not very good the film as a whole really felt made by a director with some experience. A couple of great sequences here and there and really good cinematography. Gardner did a amazing job as did the supporting cast. Definitely one of the better 'cult' films.

Anyway being a big fan of Night of the Hunter, Laughton's only directional effort, and always requesting Criterion release Peter Lorre's only directer credit: Der Verlorene I wanted to ask the Criterion community if they know of any other one time directional efforts by major stars worth seeing?

Would make a interesting boxset theme if you ask me.
